Steve’s Barking; Seeing a sun that not there.

I know it’s true but it still boggles my mind. We see a sun that was in a spot 100,000,000 light years a way, through a telescope such as Web, but that sun is no longer in the same spot in the universe and we see  it in an instant that we want to see. I know that there is a scientific explanation to this, but even if you explain this to me how this is possible, I would still be bewildered in my punny mind.

Steve’s Barking; The good, bad and ugly of immigration (illegal)

Because of war and very harsh living conditions in many countries, immigrants are flooding the borders of more stable countries. Now this may seem like a terrible thing for the countries that are being inundated by these refugees. Countries don’t have the means to house, feed and give basic necessities to these refugees. There is also the ( irrational?) threat that many of these refugees will bring with them gangsterism disease, drugs, and other bad stuff. In the United States at the Mexican border there are 10s of thousands of these migrants. The fact of the matter the United States may need these migrants. (1) There seems to be a lack of workers to help on the farms. (2) There is a shortage of workers that are willing to do low paying jobs. (3) The work force is getting older and there aren’t enough worker to replenish Social Security and Medicare. In the Eurozone, they’re already enough new workers to replenish their pensions, and therefore their pensions are under attack. We keep hearing of the birth rate bomb, well one can assume that the refugees can fix that.

In New York in the short run the refugee problem is scary ( lack of money and space)but in the short term future the benefits to the city by having a larger work force and larger population that would bring in more federal dollars and in tens years even more representation in congress. Every day I keep reading of the losing of population well the refugees add to the population (chuckle).

* The United States had a history of being anti-refugee ( Think of the exclusion of acts of Asians. Think of  the limiting of Eastern Europeans , Italians and German Jews just before World War II. All these refugees who did come added greatly to the United States.

Steve’s Barking; What happened to the end of colossal computers? 🤷‍♀️

Now as I recall , not to long ago, maybe a decade ago a simple laptop 💻  was taking the place of  colossal computers that was taking the place in memory and computer 🖥️ power that would take up a whole room. Holy moly suddenly we have cloud ☁️ computing.. My goodness how many city 🌆 blocks do those storage bins for memory take up. Holy 💩 how large do digital currency computers have to be? And now we have a thing called artificial intelligence and how huge do those computers have to be I seen pictures and it looks like those computers take up more space then my whole apartment complex. What happened to the dream of smaller computing is better.?

Steve’s Barking; A one word answer to integration in New York City public schools

New York City public schools we’re pretty much segregated when I was going to high school over 60 years ago. Every five or so years the “reformers” have tried every trick in the book, except one and have failed miserably. The one thing the “reformers” haven’t tried is gentrification.

Steve’s Barking; “Think” exercise and thank you!

I’m going to try to do an exercise in thinking!

Let’s assume that a very Prestigious university has 2000 students in it’s incoming class. Of Those 2000 students 250 are ( white) Legacy students or 1/8 of of the incoming class. According to statistics this holds pretty much true for the past 20 years that these statistics were being kept. This Prestigious university wants a diversified university therefore of the 1,750 the standards were lowered for some students to get a more diverse student body. The first question one should ask oneself are these standards lowered for the legacy student. If they were would that negate the complaints of lowering the standards for some of the students that aren’t legacy students.

It has come to the attention that those who graduate this Prestigious university make on the average 40% more then those who graduate most other universities. The next question being do the legacy students bring the amount of money that graduates of this University make? Would many of these legacy students be making the same if they didn’t go to this Prestigious University?

It has come to the attention by statistics that a majority of those of those in this University who were brought in to diversify the University are making 30% less then those who weren’t brought in to diversify the University. The next question did those who came to this University as diverse students mingle with the legacy students, and did  those who mingled with the legacy students make more money then those who didn’t?

This is a test my thinking ! I could very easily say that this university should do away with legacy students to have a more diverse student body, but I would have to ask myself would this diminish this University by having more seats, and the possibility that the income of those graduating would go down. I have to ask myself is the university really diverse if student’s don’t mingle with one another. Are those students who were there to diversify the university really helping themselves by not mingling. Do we rely to much on statistical and not delve into the reasons why? Are we lazy?

Steve’s Barking; An idea 💡 to put back America’s debt crisis.

Democrats promise not to propose any new financial incentives for at least seven months with the exception of emergency measures, including fixing America’s infrastructure. The Republicans promise not  to hold up financial bill for those seven months. The leadership of the Democratic Party allows those who demand new spending to up to a third of there members to vote no, and the same for the Republicans to vote no because there are members set in their ways. I’m 👀 at this as a compromise that I ( foolishly) believe is workable. We can therefore pay our bills.

Steve’s Barking; Why is there so much “my” right in America

We the citizens of the United States have unimaginable rights that other countries don’t have. But these RIGHTS are not unlimited. A drunk should not have the right to carry a gun in the street, and shouldn’t say you can’t take my gun, it’s “ my “ right. A transgender woman doesn’t have the right to compete n women’s sports because of the huge advantage, this women shouldn’t say you can’t stop me from competing as a women, it’s “my” right. A person driving a car can’t drive on the sidewalk claiming that it’s “ my” right to get out of traffic. A person shouldn’t stop an other person just because they believe that person shouldn’t be there, and then claim it’s “my” right to stop that person. Why when an officer stop some person one and frisks them and are asked why, they say it’s “my” right as an officer of the law. A person who is walking a dog and the dog does its thing in the street and doesn’t pick up, that person can’t say it’s “my” right to walk my dog anywhere I choose, and it’s “my dog’s” right to do his business anywhere he chooses. A person can’t park by a fire hydrant and say “we’ll I’m only making a delivery” It’s “my” right so I better not get a ticket. A person doesn’t have the right to drive without a license, and that person can’t claim well it’s “my” right to drive..

What I’m complaining about, there’s to much me ( my) in claiming rights.

When claiming rights to often “my” tramples “ “ your” rights

Steve’s Barking; No Glass Siegel would not have prevented present-day been crisis

The present day bank crisis in America would not have been prevented the bank crises. Glass Siegel legislation was commercial and investment banks should be separate. The crisis came about because there wasn’t enough money to pay deposits. What banks were doing was there reserves were in government securities that the banks couldn’t sell because the interest rates were too low. First it was one bank, then another. It appears that there is a run on several banks because of fear, too many depositors with over $250,000 deposits are fearful they will lose their money. What is happening well financed institutions are buying assets of shaky banks. America can only hope that the buying of assets by the well financed institutions will settle in the minds of depositors that their money is safe. If not the Federal Reserve will have to step in and and put out the fire that they in all likelihood started.

No the old regulations would not have stopped a run on the banks!

The banking crisis in America brought on by ourselves could become a problem that America’s enemies couldn’t have done as hard as they might try!

Steve’s Barking; Moscow hit by drones!

What do you know Moscow was hit in a drone attack!
Moscow claims that these drones came from the Ukrainian!
Is the Russian air defense that bad that it can’t stop a slow moving drone?
Is it a false flag to gain sympathy?
 Is it disgruntled Russians?
 Is it Ukraine sabotage?
Could it even be an angered Russian military.
Maybe it’s an excuse for Putin to stay out of town ( to get medical treatment) and not to show weakness.
What ever the reason it doesn’t appear good for the Kremlin!

Steve’s Barking; America’s fast moving freight train the Fed

It appears to me that the Federal reserve is like a freight train once you get started on something is very hard to stop, it is very hard for them to stop quantitive easing now it’s very hard for them to stop raising interest rates. It’s like a moving freight train.
