Steve’s Barking; Short Fiction story of the end of the world (That’s all folks)

 That’s all Folks

      By Stephen Werner

 We tried

 We failed

The world is coming to an end.

We thought that sucking the CO 2 out of the air was all we needed to do. Oh well flooding got worse, and the heat became unbearable. We of cause blamed each other.

Of cause the zillionaires and the lesser of the super rich the trillionaires, thought they could spend their way out of the end of the world. Ha,  Joe Baloney thought his minions could colonize Mars. He stole every idea that the Russian, Chines, and America had to offer, put it on several rocket ships only to find out that his engineers forgot to calibrate the rotation of the earth around the sun and the rotation of Mars around the Sun. When they took off the rockets kept going and going never to return to any planet to land and of this writing no one knows were the hell in space they are. Another of these Uber rich dudes thought he could colonize the moon. I for the life of me couldn’t figure out why the moon would be any better then just living the rest of his shortened life on Earth, but no one knows whether life on the moon would be any good, for some strange reasons the rocket that was carrying him and all that he believed was needed to have him survive on the moon blew up. Maybe it was sabotage by the worker who helped build the rocket. And then there was zillionaire Moe Fine who thought he could beat the end of the world scenario by storing water and other liquids in along with food supplies that would last a thousand years in an underground bunker. He was positive that the bunker was water proof. It was, only he didn’t count on shoddy construction and the bunker collapsed with him and what he thought would be his survivors.

Now one would think that the world leaders who had all the knowledge and the ability to build what ever was needed to escape the end of the earth, but of cause they couldn’t agree on which course to take and then it became too late and they were stuck here on this doomed planet just like the rest of us peons.

Now we all know that we are going to die, especially when food supplies started dwindling, and electricity became scarce. Who could of figure that too much wind would destroy the wind turbines and rip solar panels from their moorings. The heat became too much for the electric grids making even the existing fossil fuel and nuclear  power useless.

Now you would think that lawlessness would skyrocket, and it did in the very beginning when it became known that the end of the human race was in sight, but the rioting were stores were broken into and computers, televisions and smart that were stollen were actually useless as electricity started to shut down so no one wanted to steal those items because they were useless.Stealing gems and clothing seemed like fun but in a short period of time the trill of having those items was gone.

You would think that rapes and assaults would become out of hand, but just the opposite happened. Perhaps the heat tired all the would be rapist and assailants out. The part of the world that was cold it was too cold to do anything.

I thought that most of us when we confronted with the end would commit suicide, but I was wrong, we were all dying from global change, either from starvation,  heat frying us or cold freezing us to death.

As I look at my wife ,children and dog I see that I’m the only one left of my family and soon I’ll be gone.  I’m writing this the old fashioned way pen and paper in case there is any humanity that survived and in a thousand years they will know the conditions of climate change.

Steve’s Barking; Who’s going to do the job?

There are those in government who claim that we need to spend 45 billion dollars for caregiving to children who’s parents work. There is a major problem with that, who is going to do the job. If the argument is we have to pay higher wages to the caregivers, what about the working parents, are we going to pay the caregiver more then those who go to do other jobs to attract more caregivers? The problem of lack of workers isn’t just caregivers, this country lacks skilled workers such as teachers, We don’t have enough doctors, nurses and technicians. We probably don’t have enough dock workers and truck drivers. Yea we need 45 billion dollars, probably 450 billion dollars for all our needs, but we need works even more……

**** The purpose of this short paragraph exercise is to say the money isn’t everything without workers to do the job……

Steve Barking; Musings about when dinosaurs ๐Ÿฆ• ruled the Earth

I was just thinking ๐Ÿค” what if the earth ๐ŸŒ atmosphere was poisonous ☠️ for man ( too much methane) . We humans couldn’t take a Time Machine without a space suit ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿš€ or sort of protection. What if us humans were poisonous ☠️ to the animals that roamed the earth ๐ŸŒ. Would they not eat us? Would they think ๐Ÿค” of us as nuisance bugs? Would our smell chase them away? What was the average temperature ๐ŸŒก️.Would it be too hot ๐Ÿฅต for us to live on earth ๐ŸŒ at that time. What if climate heating (change) brings on a new  dinosaur ๐Ÿฆ• age ( I don’t know the correct terminology for the dinosaur ๐Ÿฆ• age).

Steve’s Barking; What happened to companies complaining about government borrowing?

I remember not too long ago when companies who had to sell bonds to raise capital complained about too much borrowing by the federal government. The cost of the borrowing would go up, because if the bonds of the federal because of borrowing, we’re high, the corporate interest  would have to be much higher. Now not too long ago this was considered terrible. What happened to the corporate economist who would complain that this was the end for many businesses, or they would complain that this was so damn inflationary.  And the corporate lobbyists trying to stop the government from borrowing.Maybe I’m getting deaf because I don’t hear that  in this current economic climate with government borrowing with high interest rates.

*** Government needs to borrow if we are going to survive economically in the future. Now I understand that most people happen to come across. This blog will have no idea what I’m writing about.

Steve’s Barking; What if the laws of physics are different in different galaxies? Ask this space cadet

I was just wondering what if the speed of light is different in each galaxy. What if what we know as gravity is not the same in every galaxy. Even in our galaxy is laws of physics equal in every place? I know that so far our space explorations haven’t found any differences but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t does it?

I know that I must be a space cadet ( not all there) with this question.

Steve’s Barking; The kail diet ๐Ÿคฎ

There’s a new diet sweeping ๐Ÿงน the nation. It’s called the Kail diet. It was discovered on the mystical island of Kail . It seems that the inhabitants of this have no heart attacks. No problem ๐Ÿ˜‰ with cholesterol, and it appears they have a life expectancy of 85. Oh I didn’t mention there is no pain from arthritis or information in the body of any kind. Now all a person has to do is eat mud and drink sewage from this and it will clear away all the toxins that this country previous fade diets this country’s nutritionist have concocted.

Steve’s Barking; I worry about a company that that’s profits go up in a straight line ๐Ÿ“ˆ

I worry when I see that a company’s profit keep going up… Why you might ask….? Nothing in life goes in a straight line…. Not the weather…. Not job creation…. Maybe salaries…..but that’s a different story…. Oh yea,Social Security, though in some years salaries and Social Security is flat…..Now getting to the real reason that I worry about profits going up in a straight line…. But in real life profits don’t go up in a straight line…A company has to invest to make improvements to its product or the competition will overtake it….The consumer of the products will not need the product on a continuing basis……. Many of the consumers of the products if the prices go up, would not be able to afford the product….. The consumer of the products can look for alternatives to the products……
In the past, there have been accounting irregularities to show that profits of a company has gone up.
I worry that about false numbers…..I worry about the shareholders being fleeced….I worry about government regulation based lied profits…. I worry that we may have another Enron because of CEOs of corporations compensation is based on profits….even if those profits aren’t real….
