Steves Barking; Taiwan and China be like England and Canada

 Nobody asked me and nobody is going to listen but to alleviate the Taiwan and China tensions maybe 🤔 China should be like 👍 the UK and Canada 🍁. After all Canada is part of the British empire after all they both have the same king but is really its own country. Now it would seem reasonable that some sought of deal between Taiwan 🇹🇼 and China 🇨🇳 could be worked out. Oh but didn’t China 🇨🇳 and Hong Kong 🇭🇰 have an agreement like that and it isn’t going to well. Well…maybe China 🇨🇳 should take a lesson from Great Britain 🇬🇧 and give Hong Kong 🇭🇰 and perhaps 🤔 other provinces more autonomy with UN membership because of the autonomous ways.. Do I think 🤔 this is possible? Nah. But it’s different idea 💡 anyway.

Steve’s Barking; It’s not the the way I was taught about the stock market

 I know I’m old. I’ve been old for decades now, when it comes to the stock market I was taught you buy stocks that pay dividends not because they made money or you think there going to make a lot of money in the near future. Nooo you bought stocks  because they payed better then that old saving accounts that you had. Not only did they pay dividends they appreciated in value. I was taught the value of the company was not the value of  the  stocks in the company but the asset and how much money it was making and if things were to go bad that the company could still sells its assets and you would not be at a complete loss.  Boy have things changed. If you wanted to be in the stock market and you didn’t want to buy individual stocks you bought mutual funds and they too payed dividends. 

 In those yesteryears no one to my knowledge complained that the companies were paying dividends or too much dividends at the expense of the workers or that money should be going into R&D.. These days have past me by….

 Trump wins the election and is convicted before you can take office.

 Trump is convicted before the election and his supporters go crazy.

 Biden dies of a heart attack before the election but after he’s nominated.

 Biden  seems to have dementia after he is nominated for the presidency and there is a bewildering as what to do about the election on the Democrats part.

 Trump dies of a heart attack and his supporters have also of conspiracy theories and go crazy.

 Several states have machine failures and what ever side screams fix.

 There is a wide spread blackout on Election Day and both sides have conspiracy theories and the nation goes crazy.

 Either Biden or Trump can’t campaign because of illness and there is bewilderment as to what to do and the country goes crazy.

 

Steve’s Barking; Confession of an agnostic Democrat

 I’m a Democrat who used to call himself a liberal progressive. I don’t anymore. I’ve come to discover that liberals don’t exist anymore. And as far as progressives, well they are just mythical beast. I’ve never read about a person who had progressive ideas who didn’t at the same time had some of the most regressive ideas..I’m talking about you Woodrow Wilson, Franklyn Roosevelt, John Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson. Hell those Republican conservatives had as many liberal ideas as Democrats had.

 Now when I turned 21 my mom took me aside and told me there are 2 sins you must not commit, one is not voting, the other is voting for anyone who is not a democrat.  Well I  have sinned several times. I voted for  Nicole Malliotakis for mayor..I must have had my liberal progressive hat on that day, after all there had never been a woman mayor of New York, oh and  believe that she said that her mother was Hispanic.I have also sinned when the Democratic candidate so called Liberal Progressive position was anti low middle class me, and would potentially do me and others like me harm.

 Now let me state for the record that I’m a registered Democrat, who has donated to various democratic candidates including President Obama several times. “ Now I’m wondering if this wasn’t a huge mistake on my part”. The Democratic Party seems to me that they are more interested in my money than my vote.If they were interested in my vote then wouldn’t insult me with their phony surveys that they claim there interested in my opinion and the only way I can voice my opinion is through a donation. Accuse me of heresy against the president and the only way I can prove that’s not true is through a donation. Yea Democrats, keep it up and I’ll sin some more by not voting.

Now me alone not voting because I feel insulted is meaningless but if there are millions of Democrats who feel insulted, the party is in big trouble and it’s not because of Republicans.

Steve’s Barking; Who cares what Netanyahu says?

 Now my understanding is that Israeli, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there wouldn’t be a Palestinian State. The only problem with that is it’s not his right to say that. If the “Palestinians want a state in Gaza or the West Bank or both they do not have to get Israel’s permission. Does Taiwan exist, are there two Koreas?

 Now I don’t believe that the Gaza's population or the West Bankers what those  areas for a country but if they did they don’t need Israels permission. 

 In some way those areas are a de facto states anyway. But of cause the Prime Minister of Israel wants to give the enemy of Israel ammunition against his country. What a clown 🤡.

Steve’s Barking; Congress people say pay 💰 me more

 Ya know congress hasn’t had a raise in 14 years and my goodness inflation has been going through the roof. Things are so bad there are congress person who call 📞 for decrease in government spending are leaving congress for the pays not enough. It may seem odd ( well it does for me) that there are so many congressional members are in the top 1% in wealth would need a raise. Now even a senator who complains about the wealthy not paying their fair share says she needs a raise. 

 Now I understand that the congress people have two homes, one ☝️ in there district and one in the swamp known as Washington DC (. Not to get confused 😐 with the state). Wellll instead of give nag them a raise for housing maybe 🤔 we should build barracks for them to live in while they make believe that they are doing the right thing for the American 🇺🇸 people. 

 What about giving these people a housing stipend (that can be stollen or at least misused).

 Fear the walking dead ☠️ for there’s a great chance that one ☝️ of those zombies is going to be the president of the United States 🇺🇸.

Steve’s Barking; Is Howard better then Harvard? 🤔

 For Black Americans is Howard better then Harvard? The real question is the Ivy League better than the top HBC s for most African Americans? There was a resent survey that showed that African American that went to top HBCs were more likely to go higher up the corporate ladder then those who attended Ivy League universities. 

 There has also been a suggestion that their is an elitist mentality among black students whose family had graduated these Ivy League schools or at least black students who parents were professionals then those black students who came from an impoverished family. There is also a sentiment among  black professors that of an elite mentality of those who came from privileged class against those who were from impoverished backgrounds. 

 One of the problems for black students is self imposed segregation were they don’t get to mingle with the elite white students whose parents can help then move up the corporate ladder and the more prestigious firms.

It appears that impoverishment in childhood is not a issue at HBCs.

Steve’s Barking; ADP Jobs report vs labor department’s job report for Dec 2023

 ADP’s job report states that 164,000 jobs were created in Dec of 2023.

 The labor department reports that 216, 000 jobs were created in Dec of 2023.

 That’s a discrepancy of 52,000 new jobs..

 Is that a statistically even or a major discrepancy?

Steve’s Barking; Hidden figures Taragi Henderson

 Taragi Henderson stated in an interview that she is underpaid as an actress. Especial compared to White actresses, and especially to white actors. Her clam that she made only $ 35,000 for her roll in the Color Purple…Now the insinuation is That she made a lot less than if she was a white actress. Now to of the four producers of this movie are African American ..and the director is African American…I kind f guess they didn’t slight themselves. What isn’t brought put in the interview was what her costars who also happen to be black actresses got for their performances in this picture for without their amount paid one can not tell if Taragi was underpaid because she is a black actress or not..

 Maybe Taragi shouldn’t have made this move, but I’m sure she has representatives who help negotiate deals.

 There are other strange money things that came out as Oprah stating that she made only $35,000 when she was n the original Color Purple. Well that would be over $100,000 today. As an actress is was an unknown quantity.

 Now the cast of Hidden Figures the black actresses maybe shouldn’t have gotten more the Kevin Cosner who was a known quantity but they ( in my mind) should have gotten much more the Jim Parsons, for the whole movie was about them…No I do not know the pay check of anyone connected to the movie..or for that matter the New Musical Color Purple.
