(convid19]Coronavirus is sweeping the world.
There will be many cases.
There will be death due to the virus.
Most of the cases will be mild.
There will also be a huge loss of economic activity.
Many millions  of people will feel that they are prisoners of their own country.
When all is over will most of the word think that the latest Coronavirus was much a do about nothing.
Will they question the experts and their government if another disease that’s more deadly and those who catch it will feel terrible but the citizens of the world will po po it because of the the latest Coronavirus?

Steve’s Barking; N.Y. says bye, bye to billionaires

The President is leaving New York when his term is up.
Question are his sons leaving?
Carl Icon left New York  for Florida, but are the rest of his family (sons) leaving?
Is the leaving of the supper rich really leaving New York because of higher taxes?
Or is it right now a nothing burger made up by the main stream right wing media?

Steve’s Barking; The canary in the coal mine is Tesla

The Corona virus might be a lot worse the global economy then one believes.
Just think of how much is owed by corporations to banks and bond holders.
Think of corporations not being able to produce enough product to sell and meet its obligations.
Think also if workers aren’t able to work because factories and businesses are shut or at half capacity.
How are the buyers able to buy the product?
I look at Tesla. This company is a prime example of a company that has huge debt and must produce product( electric cars) in high volume and must have customers with the ability to buy their product.
There is a possibility that Tesla will be bankrupt in the near future scaring lenders and bond holders.
What about owners of it’s stock? What about owners of other stocks if it starts selling at less then ten dollars a share? Would there be a major stock panic?

Steve’s Barking; Does Amazon tell Gimbals

Amazon is the destroyer of box store department stores according to popular wisdom.
While This maybe true for modern times I’m just wondering about all those old time department store like Gimbals, Marshal Fields, Time Square store, Caldors, Alexander’s,and all those Midwest, southern and West coast store that went out of business way before the internet was in common use.
What was their excuse?

If Amazon was to split up would their cloud business be a huge success and their retail business have    a struggle to stay in business?

Would Amazon be in business if there had been high interest rates during the last decade?

Steve’s Barking; Why is there a war against pensions?

There seems to be a war against pensions.
Look at Russia, they reduced not long ago their meager pension.
France is trying to change the way pensions are calculated.
The USA is letting it’s Social Security turn into a pay as you go system and private pensions along with many public pensions are in danger of running out of money.
Germany is raising the age when a person can receive a pension.
What else is new.

Steve’s Barking: Trump said our America has the greatest economy ever

 L Presidente Of the United States stated today that the United States has the greatest economy that it ever had. If you look at the economic numbers coming from the government he doesn’t seem far from wrong. The problem being is that the numbers are coming from government workers who know that if one gives the president bad news that they would be made fun of and could very easy be out of a job. Now I say to you the reader, would you trust the figures coming out of government agencies (even though those agencies were the most trusted) that the employees would lose their jobs on news that displease their boss, and that they would lose their jobs.

Steve’s Barking; America’s latest sport! Voting

We Americans use the latest poles to judge how we should vote. At least that what my in boxes indicates.
Judging from the news media the ah hum pundits make like the talking heads on the sports channels that I watch. Highly partisan.
Like sports in America and the word( Russia ) cheating is rampant , so it appears to be in our  election process in America.
There appears to be complaining about those rich candidates (and candidates who are rich in donations from the rich just as there are complaints big market teams having a great advantage over small market teams.
We’ve even have a kind of fake wrestling kind of mentality in this presidential cycle, with heroes and villains.
I always used to take my vote seriously, but it appears that the elections in the United States is becoming more like a sporting event then a truly serious event.
