Steve's barking at piracy

Piracy on the high sea's has come back in I style, but that's not what I'm writing about. I'm trying to write about the stealing of intellectual property. You know the stuff that the news does everyday. Does the Daily Show have the right to show news clips from other cable networks? Heck do I have the right to sing a popular song on the way to the grocery store. I know that the owners of the right to said song should be angry because nobody can butcher a song like I can. After all they might lose money from the song because my singing can leave a terrible sound in ones ears and there is a chance that sound can be associated with that song.

Now those who in industries that are concerned the most and want the government to do something about it are those are aren't afraid to plagiarizer other's material. ( How else can one explain hearing the same rhythm from so many various songs and the same plot line in movies and television from different studios). There is even one studio News corp who constantly complains about too much government regulation.

Now I'm not sure but wasn't Napster closed with out government interference?
Now I can't be sure of this either but I'm guessing that most people  who pirate so called intellectual property wouldn't normally pay for it anyway. I'm also guessing that there is even a small percentage that because of hearing or seeing the stolen property are actually going to spend money on it.
