Steve’s Barking A vaccine question

In America we have a major problem, we need workers in almost every industry, including government and healthcare. This at the same time we have an over 5% unemployment rate. Now governments in the blue states are telling their workers they will be disciplined by being let go unless they are this is while we have a shortage of these skilled workers. This seems to be true of health care workers in hospitals, good by nurses, good by technicians, good by doctors(?). This seems to be a dilemma that is hard to figure what should be done.

*Some vaccinated workers refused to work with unvaccinated co-workers.

** Are some state and local governments being too strict and are cutting off their noises to spite their faces?

Steve’s Barking; Too jail or not jail.

New York City’s Rikers Island jail is rotten stink hole. If you don’t believe me just ask the publicity seeking politicians. Many a politician went to the jail the other day and demanded that the jail to be closed. Do they believed that he jail should be closed or was it just grandstanding I do not know. They didn’t say were the inmates (most of whom are waiting trial should go. Perhaps they should be let out onto the streets of New York hoping that they don’t commit crimes that they were originally arrested  and hoping those who are a waiting trial show up for them. Perhaps New York State can open it prison that were recently shut, hiring  the guards that were recently fired. You can shuttle the inmates to the city for their trials, those most who visited the jail would cry bloody murder.
Now one might ask how did this jail get into this disrepair? It didn’t after all happen over night. I ask the question to myself , why wasn’t an other prison built on Rikers, were prisoners could be shuttled to and the other seven prisons on the island  slowly be rebuilt to be more humane. Why aren’t there enough guards in the prisons or is the city being too cheap and perhaps it’s the mayor’s fault taking money for the current prison system and putting it into his pet project prison ( I don’t know what the allocation for the prison system is , the comptrollers should). I do know as a layman  that not enough is being spent n the current prison system. The grandstanding politicians are a day late and a dollar short.

Steve’s Barkin; Taxes, let’s make a deal

Let’s tax the rich! After all they have all the money.
Let’s tax the poor! After all they get most of the benefits.
The first sentence to the people who suggest it , want to tax stock assets because it right now is going through the roof. The thinking goes that as these assets (stocks) make the rich owners the owners of almost 99% of all the wealth in this country. The problem with this thinking is the value stocks ( and even real estate) can decrease just as fast. That is one reason we can not tax certain assets that appreciate as if the appreciation is income. Appreciation is also a slippery slope, what happens if the government needs more revenue and taxes the appreciation of a persons home, like local governments some time do( they call it a real estate assessment tax).
Now if you think that no one in their right mind would tax the poor, think again. One of the plans to correct Social Security crises is to add 2 % on to fica which is Social Security and Medicare tax. Now there is no getting away from paying this tax so if your poor working stiff you currently lose 8 %3/4 of your pay to then lose another 2% is totally wrong. Whether it’s to sure up Social Security or to boost Social Security income of the poorest recipient is wrong.
Now I’m not sure if it’s not done now( I’m not up to date on the tax code) but stock options should be be taxed at what the price buyer agrees to pay if he or she picks up the option and what the price is when the option is picked up. If you were to win a prize on the television show let’s make a deal you have pay the retail price of the item as if it were income. Well if it’s good for the poor contestant it should be good enough for the winners of stock options.

Steve’s Barking; The most dangerous person for the Democrats ☠️

Who is the person who is the most dangerous person for the Democratic Party?☠️

This is a picture of me. No I’m not the most dangerous person facing the Democratic Party! But I do represent a danger to the party. I represent the regular party person who votes for the Democrats in every election, get the signatures for the candidates and contributes to the Party! I’m also the guy who is becoming very disillusioned with the Party! If there multiple people (millions let’s say) and we vote by staying home and ignoring the party that represents a grave ⚠️ to the Democratic Party in national elections, especially when they need all the votes they can get.

Steve’s Barking; Slow Down, We move to fast ( Computer, Ransom Ware, cyber attack)

Every day now I read in the news of a new cyber attack including ransom ware. We keep looking for solutions when a solution may be right in front of our noses.
(1) There is no reason that everybody and their brother should have access to a business computer. Doesn’t anybody hear of the ethernet?
(2) What ever happened to the warning when their is a change in the program, even upgrades a question would be asked are you sure you want to make this change?
(3)  Why not have override programs that could keep the computer functioning despite the malware.

This problem is that we want ease to use and the faster the better in our computing safety is secondary!
I’m at fault too, I want ease and speed even though I understand the risk!

Steve’s Barking; The Commie State of Texas

I am flabbergasted that these United States actually has a state in the union that is on par with communist China. No I take that back it’s worse then Communist China. First they start telling private companies how to run their businesses ( can’t demand vaccinations and masks). That’s even worse then Communist China.
Now they past a law were you can rat on your neighbor ( for having an abortion) just like the old Soviet Union would do. Then they restrict voting as trying to assure that a certain party is assured victory, sounds a lot like Cuba, Venezuela to me especially when  they issue arrest orders for members of opposition for leaving town. Sounds like Venezuela to me. Texas in its current state makes my heart sadden, it’s turned from a state that it’s citizens had great deal of freedom to a state that behaves like a Commie State.

Steve’s Barking; Will the Bronx,( Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan Richmond) be burning

Holy Mother Of God the New York State legislature is debating to have a rent moratorium till January, this is at the same we’re the state has over 2 billion dollars to pay the rent for those who can’t because of Covid 19 job loss. Now my way of thinking is that if a person doesn’t have an incentive to request rent relief through the state why should they do it?  Now let’s take the landlords can they afford the upkeep of their houses if they don’t get any rent money. Can they make more money if they can get an arsonist do do their jobs on their buildings to collect the insurance on the building. If they can’t get an arsonist they will just walk away from the property.
The question is how long can the landlords hold on because of non payment of rent till New York City is on fire?

* Will the housing stock become depleted?
* How much money will New York City lose in taxes?
** How many apartments ( or rented houses) haven’t had their rent paid? ( The amount of non payment of rent is a mystery to me).
** How many tenants could of paid their rent but took advantage of non eviction part in of the rent moratorium?
*** Could the rent moratorium be a contributing factor in why there are so many jobs being unfulfilled?
