Steve’s Barking; The good and bad about electric stovesπŸ€” taking the place of gas stoves

New York and the rest of America πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ is turning away from gas stoves and turning to electric stoves because it is believed that a by product of a gas stove is methane gas.. Now Like I said before I’m not too sure about the study that shows that methane gas is produced from a gas stove ( even when the gas is turned off?) Another study suggests that gas stoves produce asthma.
Ok now let’s look πŸ‘€ at having an electric stove in stead of a gas stove that has nothing to do with methane and asthma. There are no gas leaks that can make living space unlivable. No one can kill themselves by putting their head in the oven. There can’t be any natural gas explosions.
Ok now let’s look πŸ‘€ at the negative. One has to be careful of not overloading the circuit ( not so bad if it’s just in the house 🏑). What happens if there is a black out? No warm food for a period of time. ( mom can’t warm up formula for her baby). Black out in the winter πŸ₯Ά no heat, no light πŸ’‘ except for candle light πŸ’‘.  ?????

*** Was a blind test done comparing gas to electric stoves?
*** Was there an asthma study done that ruled out the placebo effect….?
*** How minute does burning natural gas put methane into the atmosphere?
*** How much will all electric stoves put pressure on the grid?

Steve’s barking; Does Russia want to be a war with the rest of the world?

Russia appears to want to fight a global war because of food. Russia on July 17 decided not to allow food shipments ( wheat) to go through the Black Sea. This will cause food insecurity and food inflation all over the world ( as if heat waves and floods and drought wasn’t enough).
Most wars are caused by much less. The need for cheap resources. Strict nationalism. The need for land. The insidious secret wars of ideology ( economic, religious and form of government).
It is my uneducated view that holding food as a hostage is a strong reason to go to war against the hostage  taker.

* I really don’t want to go to war. I’m hoping for a negotiated end of hostilities between Russia and Ukrainian, even if it’s similar to the end of hostilities between North and South Korea.

Steve’s Barking; More trouble in economic paradise….stikes

Those Blue States California, and New York, and Georgia face a big downturn because of the movie and television writers and actors strike. Hopefully these places are prepared for the downturn in tax revenues and the uptick in unemployment….if not πŸ€”. Now in the couple of weeks there is a possibility of a strike against United Parcel πŸ“¦, this could very easily hurt E -commerce, even though the postal service and Fed X will pick up some of the slack.

**** I personally think πŸ€” it’s the right for writes, actors and delivery drivers to strike. Too many of the union members are barely getting by. It is also a way of letting those in charge No reduction in compensation in the future. ( computer generated acting and writing and residuals coming in on streaming as they used to come in on repeats of former programs in television).
Delivery personnel, who are part time striking for a decent wage.

****I have the feeling that if these strikes hurts or inconveniences too many people, there are a group who will claim about those greedy workers.  ( especially those millionaire actors with not realizing that the great majority of actors and writer don’t make a living at their craft).

### Yep another uneven blog….I didn’t mention enough about United Parcel πŸ“¦ drivers… nor did I mention the economics the celluloid entertainment industry.

Steve’s Barking; Deflated income for the upper middle class ( huh)

It has come to my attention that there are many people being laid off in the tech industry, and these people are upper middle class. Now it’s also come to my attention that it appears that most of those who are laid off are getting new positions at lower pay. It is also come to my attention that those who have student loans well start to have to repay them, taking a bite out of their income? Now this might be all right but a major problem for the economy is that this is a large group that has a larger discretionary income, then those in the bottom and in the middle of a middle class. Now just maybe people going on trips who are on the upper middle class will have to hold back. Those in this group who intended to buy homes in all likelihood, will have to hold back and possibly those in this group. They have to hold back on goin to fine dining restaurants.(hmm) Will this to a crimp in the economy? Will this have a trickle down effect with lay offs  coming to the lower middle of income people? And if the lower middle income people have less or no disposable income it will it in all probability hurt the poor worker.

* The top dogs CEOs and owners are not effected and will not be effected for some times ( Though they may be later next year). And in fact appears to that there income ( or just there net worth appears to be going up.

** The poor workers income is going up but unfortunately there discretionary income has gone down or has stayed the same.

*** Why you have to look past the jobs report to see how the economy is doing for it doesn’t tell the whole story.

****  I know I don’t like calling any body middle class , but middle income…

Steve’s Barking; It’s a matter of the m s ( money supply)

With all the talk of hiring no one talks of the money these workers are making. Many of these workers were fired from the tech industry with high paying jobs, they are then hired into lower paying jobs( opps less money going into the system). There was a surge of money during the pandemic going into t people hands, that money is now drying up as witnessing the surge of travel a spend down of that money? We are coming to the point that the debt of college loans is now in the next few months to s coming into play.Less money in the hands of those debtors. Because of failed banks and higher interest rates loans become more expensive, meaning less volume in the movement of money. (Perhaps because of higher interest rates and higher scrutiny some of those companies that just higher the laid off tech workers will not be around in 2024). In my unlearned opinion we are in danger of hard economic times.

Steve’s Barking; War, few people needed!

Oh my goodness, is it possible that in the near  future that there will be very few true combatants. Right now we’re using drones to do what airplanes used to do. We’re using smart rockets more and more. I can see that soon we’ll be using smart tanks and smart artillery driven by robots who have operators far from the battle field making human soldiers  on the battle so endangered that they will become obsolete. Unfortunately you can’t make civilians in the war zone obsolete and they will take the brunt of war with many casualties.
