Steve’s Barking; When manufacturing was king in the U.S. employment was?

 It seems to this intrepid blogger that making things in the U.S. of A doesn’t bode well for the employment rate. Now it appears to me that in the 70s, when you might say was a peak in American manufacturing the unemployment rate in America was worse then when we turned into a service and consumer economy. As the old professor would say, you can look it up.
