My generation’s grandparents were in most cases poor. If you are much younger than me, that would be your great-grandparents. They squeaked by. Now this blogger seems to think that we’re headed in the direction of our grandparents, just getting by. Inflation is eating many of the salaries, also the savings of many of our retirees.
If you look at the dollar amount that the salaries of the workers and you compare them with the salary of the 30s and 40s, you may shake your head. After all, today’s monetary salaries are huge compared to the old days, but if you compare it to the price of necessities, the United States may be headed in a worse place than yesteryear.
