You heard it here first.
The Republicans are saying that they will sue if the amendment to the so called health care reform Senator Nelson of Nebraska got passed for his vote. Now maybe I don't understand what's going on but if every state in the union has to pay additional cost that medicaid will add on more people
who will be eligible for medicaid. Nebraska will be exempt from paying any
thing into medicaid. It seems fair to me, but I don't think that constitutional, It should be fun if in conference with the house this part of what was passed by the senate stays in the bill. It looks like the supreme court is going to decide if there is going to be a health care change in the United States. Oh did I forget to mention that 24 state attorney generals have threatened to sue for being unconstitutional. my opinion is that probably is.

Steve's barking about global warming

Oh my here we go again, There's this thing going on in Copenhagen on how we can stop global warming. Sounds like a good idea. And yes I do believe that changes are happening with the temperatures of he earth as they have since the earth was formed. Some times the temperature changes are fast other times the temperature changes seem to take for ever. Now let assume that man has polluted the atmosphere as Al Gore has said and the carbon that we have left in the atmosphere is a major contributor to global warming. Now let me inform those who believe that we must do away sending out carbon into the air we are doomed. I've got news it's too late,now let me repeat that, it's too late. I'm saying that from the information that those scientist who believe that only we can save the earth by limiting our carbon footprint. Now looking at the evidence they have presented to one and all carbon stays in the atmosphere for over 75 years and it appears that the carbon in the atmosphere is compounding like interest in a bank. the fact the matter it's too late too worry about global warming, given the information the defenders of global warming are showing. The only way to save humanity and avoid billions of death is to figure out how to adjust to global warming such as moving the populist from the coast, move water from places that are inundated with water to places that have drought. I've been told there are even some scientist who claim they can put stuff into The air that would behave like volcanoes ash dose cooling the atmosphere by blocking the sun. ( I'm not sure that's such a good idea.)

The kicker being that man made global warming my very well bring in the next ice age.

Steve's Barking tiger by the tail

Every time I try to watch the news keep hearing about Tiger Woods.
There are facts that I'm pretty sure about. He was in his car and backed of his driveway at a little after 2:30 AM. He hit a fire hydrant then he crashed into a tree. Those are the facts that I'm 99.9% are real, 100% because on can never be 100% sure of anything. I'm also pretty sure of the accuracy of the neighbors account of what they saw, that Tiger was on the ground making what appeared to be snoring sound with the back widow of his SUV smashed out. I'm also very sure that Mr. Woods did something that he's not very proud of and his wife wasn't too happy about because of his public statement.
Now we'll go into the fuzzy part of the story.
The first is the female who the Enquire claimed he was having an affair with. She and her lawyer were going to have a press conference that was called off. She has been denying that she had an intermit relationship with Mr. Woods. The stories that have been making the rounds is that the press conference was called because she was offered hush money from the Woods camp. Now the only way anyone would know this is the lawyer told someone which would be unethical on her part, or there's a spy in the lawyers office, or perhaps going through the trash of the lawyer, Tiger, or the woman something was found.
Now it's been said that Tiger had 1,2,3 or perhaps 30 other women ( the way these women keep popping up) and he was giving each one hush money.
I don't know how anyone would know about this hush money for the same reason I stated with woman number one.
I'm still trying to figure out why Tiger or anyone closely associated with him would give hush money ( unless he did something illegal or there a possibility that he would be sued by one of these women, though I don't see how.)the world believes that he had lovers (We liked to believe the worst in our celebrities.) and what ever he did his wife already knows about it.
Speaking of Tiger's wife, we keep hearing stories that she getting a new monetary marriage agreement. We know this because of one of the reasons I stated in women number one.
For several hours we believed that some boy was stuck in a ballon. What that has to do with anything beats me.

Steve's Barking at unemployment percentage

I just read that the United States just shed only 11,000 jobs last month.
In the same article the percentage of jobless in this country went from 10.2% to 10% being the old fart that I am, I just don't get this new math. Maybe I'm misunderstanding what I'm looking out. The math that I remember from school, if you minus jobs, the percentage of unemployment would go up (Of cause 11,000 is statically insignificant so in this case we should have 10.2% unemployment). So who do I trust my old fart way of doing math or new government statistical analysis? I guess I’ll go with the Government, after all I read it on the internet, and therefore it must be right.

Steve's Barking ; foreign debt

I don’t get it, At least I think I don’t get. Now my country does have this here humongous Foreign debt. I mean it’s so big I can’t even be counted. What I don’t get did not foreign countries owe us a small fortune. Some was paid off at ridicules low interest. Other’s were not . It’s also true that foreign countries even owe this country for World War 1, (you know the war to end all war till the next war came along). Now the price of Coke a Cola was 5 cents a glass now the price is 1 dollar, that’s twenty times price. Using Coke as a boiler plate we can multiply what is owed us by 20 and swap it for the debt that we owe foreign nations. Now if those counties Are not happy with that, and still want to hold on to our debt but will not lend us anymore money we put up our gold reserves as collateral. According to the web financial management services we have 258,647,851 troy ounces in the federal reserves, they valued it at almost 11 billion dollars, I don’t understand how they valued it at that because I valued it 259 billion with the price of gold over 1,100 dollars an ounce. Now we also have over 500 million barrels of oil in our oil reserves that’s at least 25 billion dollars lets not forget the trees that we have federal lands. The price of timber keeps going threw the roof.




Now if these solutions don’t get our Oriental friends attention we should try to get a reverse Marshall plan were a our Asian friends give us money to buy there products, our ying to their yang

I just don't understand, whats up with these nimrods from the last president's administration.
You got this clown Dick Cheney complaining that President Obama bowed to low when meeting with the Emperor of Japan, What would he like the president to do, Vomit on him like the first president Bush did to the prime minister of Japan.
Now this guy Dick complained that President Obama was weakening the CIA. This is the same Clown who named Valery Plame as a CIA agent. This is the same Dick who was in an administration that that started a war and did’t have enough bullets, yet he has the nerve to complain that President Obama doesn’t know how to conduct a war. This is the same Dick that praises former secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld (you know the guy who thought you can fight a war with the minimum amount of soldiers), at the same time complaining that President Obama didn’t listen to his generals and that he might not send all the troops that would be necessary. This is the same Dick who complains about the Democratic Party, but when he was the head of the search committee to find a running mate for George W Bush, the only person he could find is himself. This is the same Dick who complains about the money being wasted by the Obama administration, forgets to mention the money wasted on Halliburton in Iraq ( I guess it’s alright to waste money if your friends are doing it). I’ve mentioned in a previous blog about accidental traitors, this guy isn’t accidental, this Dick is the real deal.

Steve's barking; break up the too big to fail banks

Break up them too big too fail banks, That's the popular wisdom going on the tube. We can't have bail out those damn banks. I do believe that I heard some fool on the tube saying that the American public don't like the idea hey we bailed out those big bad banks. Now for the love of me I really don't believe that those Americans who don't want the government to bail at those big bad banks, would like it if they work so hard and didn't get paid. Well maybe they didn't work so hard but they didn't get the money they normally expect in there bank because big bad bank became  insolvent and the FDIC didn't have the resources to make them whole like it does the smaller regional banks. Yes the American public really wants that.
Oh yea you can break up the banks by making laws that commercial banks and saving and loans aren't stock brokers. Nor can they be investment bankers. OK maybe that will help, but if a bank is doing risky business they are still in danger in being insolvent, maybe we will have all banks with less then 1% of the market. Yea that's what we should do tell the banks how many depositors they can have along with what we have already  in place right  now, how much reserves that they must have.

Only the reactionaries could give a solid conservative republican district the 23rd in N.Y. to a liberal democrat. A district that hasn't gone democrat in over 150 years.
Maybe in the next election they can get more duller then dish water candidate's who some how forgets that his business gets tax payer money.
Since when to say that person throws their weight around refers to a person girth.
Is the tea party really a party of homosexuals? if not why do they refer to themselves in the term used by male homosexuals of putting one's testicles in another man face?
Why couldn't Mayor Bloomberg spend his money to explain why he needed a third term against the will of the people, and not even even explain what his hopes and dreams for the coming years?
 If NYC is such a liberal town why is that conservative talk radio so popular?       

Steve's Barking about Credit Cards

Be it from me to tell a business how to run it's business but after the mortgage fiasco, why do some of those same banks increase their interest rates on credit cards to there customers. What's going to happen is the customers are going to default on their debt. Not spend so much, depriving the company of taking their cut on the spending of the customer from vendor.  If there isn't collusion between credit cards then those who keep their rates down and don't charge a fee should be making out like bandits. That's the way we Americans have been taken for granted the way the free market is suppose to work.
 If I was an owner of bank stocks or a company that makes money from credit cards that are trying to gouge it's customers I would sell, sell and sell again ( I believe they call that going short). 
 Those banks will of cause  have to give those  million dollar bonuses to those who thought this up in order to hold on to them, after all they made paper millions the first  months of these brilliant idea. You wouldn't want them to spread their brilliance to other financial institutions especially overseas.

Steve's barking on money printing press

It has come to my attention that there are many a person in this country are complaining that my government has a printing press and that they are printing money that they (the mysterious they) believe will lead to hyper inflation. The mysterious they don’t seem to realize that a large portion of the world’s population has a small monetary printing presses in their pockets or pocketbooks. These printing presses are better known as credit cards. I understand that this is an abstract idea but trust me every time some one uses their card and doesn’t pay it off right away they are printing money. If this is true and I know it is, what would happen if we took credit cards away from the peoples of this planet. It would have the same effect as taking a huge ( and I mean very, very, very huge) pile of money and setting it on fire.


So kiddies this is the economic lesson for today. Money can be printed or burned by ordinary citizens.

Steve's Barking the language of the ultra conservative

It seems to me that one of the problems that we Americans have is that not every one in this country speaks the same language. We  don't understand what one says if one calls himself a conservative or a liberal they don't speak the same language even though we all claim to speak English. Because I don't seem to understand those who listen to Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh and their listeners I decided to take a Berlitz course in ultra conservative language.
 So after taking the course I decided to try to speak to the so called conservative listeners.
So here goes;

Those terrible "R" words that when I look at in political speak.
If you think that one of them is Republican your sadly mistaken.
I watch out for them damn reformers, self righteous buffoons who after getting into office turn out to more wicked then those they depose of.
The next group is the radical left of which some say that I'm part of. At least that of my ideas are. Radical at least, definitely not main stream. Again these are self righteous buffoons, who have no respect for for anyone one or idea that is not in the norm of there thinking.
Now we come to the worst of the worst, the reactionaries, or as  Ian Flemming would call them Doctor Nos. If it was up to them we would still be hunting for our food, There would be no government and the hell with every one else. On might even call them paranoid jerks.  The Glen Beck's of the world.              

Barking on Afghanistan

It has come to my attention that many of my country are comparing what the United States is doing in Afghanistan to that of the Vietnam War. Perhaps that because we equate the destruction of the World Trade Center with that of the destruction of the Second Avenue Subway or the saboteurs that the Vietcong sent to this country as currently being trained in Afghanistan. Oh the Second Ave subway wasn’t destroyed by the Vietcong, nor did North Vietnam train any saboteurs to infiltrate this country. I don’t believe that we were in Vietnam to for revenge of an attack on our soil. Nor were we in Vietnam to weed out and go after those who would do harm to the civilians of America.


Those who would have us pull out of Afghanistan because they believe that wining the hearts and minds of the country and were in there to bring democracy to the country are right we should pull out. Those like me who believe that were in Afghanistan for revenge and to destroy those who are out to harm the civilians of America. We will help those who help us not by changing there mind set, but by helping them survive.

Those who would ask me when we should leave Afghanistan my answer is not until the job of revenge and safety is complete, even if it means that my great grandchildren are fighting this war hundreds of years after I’m gone.

Say What?

I just saw Anthony Wiener on  the Bill Maher's' show on HBO. He sounded reasonable that this country should have government run healthcare, sighting that medicare is run cheaply (though it's running out of money) an that those receiving it are pleased with it, after his segment I channel surfed and saw an add by AARP for supplementary health insurance. I guess not every senior citizen is  satisfied with medicare.
I kept surfing and saw an add by the heritage foundation  (who's heritage I do not know) stating that under the new government  proposals you might lose your doctor, I hate to inform  these lune's, but doctors leave plans all the time because they don't like the fees. I lost my gastric oncologist because of this.
We just can't trust anyone nowadays.    

Your Children and Your Grand Children Will be Paying for This

You know that I’ve been told many times over that the United States can’t afford to spend money to create jobs, to protect the environment, to fix the infrastructure.


Let me try to understand this logic. My daughter can’t get a job, therefore she will not have to pay for the government borrowing money. Sounds reasonable, except I wonder who’s going to pay for college education. Well at least she wouldn’t pay for the budget deficit.



I was wondering what ever happen to the idea that I learned in High School economics that in the olden days of this country the farmers would borrow on the hope of inflation, in other words borrow low and hope for big profits.

Now that I have stock in a car company along with every other American, I should have a say in how the company is run. Now the first thing that we have to do is keep the bureaucrats from telling president of General Motors how to run the company. It seems to me that bureaucrats forced General Motors to make the new YUGO, better know as the Volt. Our car company seems to be putting all it’s eggs in one basket, the basket  known as stupid. The car cost $40,000 as if the average consumer can afford $40,000. The car is especially good in the city for the charge doesn’t last very long. The problem with that is in the North East it's very difficult to charge, unless of cause the owner of the car has a very, very long extension cord. Now if the owner wanted to go on a long trip there is a small gas powered engine that resembles a lawn mower engine, that can’t even charge the battery. If you plan to take a long trip, when you stop, you must expect to plug the car into a socket for eight hours. Hoping that the place were you stop has a place to plug the car into, or you have an exceedingly long extension cord.


If this is the best that we can do, I have to start worrying about GM’s engineers.

Now for a foot note; General Motors car that is selling the strongest is the Camaro a gas guzzling hog. You can’t buy it without paying a premium from the dealership.

The smartest man in the room

We of the empire state elected a Governor who proclaimed himself as the smartest man in the room when he went to his first governor's conference or at lest I've been told. I have no doubt that he's Mensa material of which I'm not. I don't think I would have unprotected sex with a prostitute. Every teenage boy is taught not to have unprotected sex, and those who have unprotected sex are looked down as dolts, or being pretty dumb. Here was a top notch prosecutor who got caught up in money laundering to pay for his unprotected sex bring a women across state lines for sex violating the Mann act. Ah yes he was the smartest man in the room. He was the brilliant man who brought David Paterson in as lieutenant governor. Now I've been told by several people who met him that he was very smart. That was before he became governor. Here is a man who when faced with a fiscal crises believes that getting the OK from the union's to give there OK for a tier five ( this is something that anybody who has any knowledge of the state constitution knows that pension and pension reforms are non negotiable)in exchange he'll give $20'000 for people to leave state service. the people who took him up on the deal were going to leave state service in 12 month anyway, or so I've been told.
What happened to the state that had at one time the greatest forward looking governors, Clinton, Cleveland, the two Roosevelt's, Dewey , and Rockefeller. All you can do is look to the heavens and wounder.

Ted kennedy

I have nothing against Ted Kennedy, even with all the faults he had, Drinking, adultery, swimming from the scene of an accident. Let those who are with out sin cast the first stone. The fact of the matter I've been know to have a vice or two maybe three and I'm a saint. Just ask my mom.
The problem I'm having is the reporting that I've seen on Television. You would think this was the second coming of Ann Nichole Smith, or even Michael Jackson. Wall to wall coverage. Was the senator a president, I don't think so, but then my memories is defiantly going bad. Did the news of the world stop because this man past away.
We have three cable networks (?) that claim that they are news networks, couldn't the get together and decide which one would go 24/7 with the funeral and eulogies, and following the castkit ect. The reast could have given highlights. It's called variety didn't anyone at these networks ever hear of the words variety and difference.

The best healthcare in the world

Health care reform?
The great American fight for health care reform is the most bewildering thing I’v have ever seen.
I keep hearing how great the American health care system is, as they say what planet are the 80% of these citizens’ of my great country from. I can’t image that a civilized country could have such a moronic and awful system.
We have more then one problem with our health care, not just 20% of our citizens’ don’t have any.
Our businesses have a burden that no other country Businesses have, footing the bill for health care. ( I guess that when those who think that our system is good they don’t mind having our businesses handicapped).
Our States taxes pay between 20 to 50% for Medicaid, I guess that the citizens of this country like paying 1/3 of their state tax to for health care in most cases for someone else.
Medicare which is on the verge of bankruptcy, yet I hear screams from the crowds that they love there Medicare and that the government had best leave it alone? No one says how this wonderful program will be paid for I guess the youth of this country does’t mind their taxes going up.
The aged in this country don’t mind paying exorbitant prices for their drugs. They like being told by the drug companies that they can’t be covered if you want a drug that is not part of their plan.They love paying huge premiums for this privilege

The air heads or better known as TV Commentators

I’ve been looking at television lately at what is loosely called news networks.
Why there called news networks is beyond my comprehension.
If rattling off opinions is news that’s news to me.
Now I call the the people who’s name is on the title of these shows airhead, not because they're dumb, far from it, they may be be quite intelligent, I call them airheads because they are so full of themselves that if you stuck a pin in their head they would pop. I also call them air heads because they’re on the air and they’re heads are full of nonsense. Now in case anyone should read this blog (doubtful at this time) I know what is generally described as an air head is some one who is quite dumb, no that’s not what I mean. What my problem is with someone who believes that the media means it all about me forget about dia.
I see Lou Doubs(who is the hardest working on air personality) is still not letting anybody who doesn't agree with him answer questions in a thought provo king way. His side kicks seem to be all yes men or women ( I wouldn’t want to be call a sexist). Don’t get me wrong I agree with a lot of what he has to say. I just can’t think of anything right now.
Speaking of which I some times agree with the 20 dollar hooker who appears on the Republican apology network better know as Fox News network. I don’t know if she gets paid or not (if not she’s only a 15 dollar hooker). She maybe right about those women who are holding up progress at the World Trade Center, London didn’t stop dead after World War deuce. When you build a memorial you have to make up your mind on what is to be done. Now the hooker did call presidential candidate John Edwards a fag while “Slick” was Fooling around with someone who wasn’t his wife. ( I guess the hooker thinks fag on this side of the pond is a British cig.)
Now we come to Big Bill on the Republican apology. The guy reminds me of a fop who also never lets his quest disagree with him. Also on the apology network we have Harrity or what ever that buffoon’s name is at 10oclock Eastern. To listening to him is like hearing the scratching on a blackboard, at least the teacher would be trying to get your attention to teach you something that was truthful. This clown also has a radio show. This is kind of like Rush Limbaugh show. Now I’m pretty sure that Rush is fat head who has 20 million listeners who will follow what ever he says, unfortunately for Rush there's 30 million people who will do just the opposite. I’m not going to write about Rush, he’s not on a so called news network. My favorite Fox moment by the way was watching Britt Hume have a melt down when President Obama was showing that he was going to win in a landslide. Smiling Jack (Chris Wallace) had the biggest smirk on his face and Britt complained to him.
Now we come to CNN headline News (doesn't anybody know the meaning of the words headline news mean at that station) I don’t now the name of those women and their guest but I’m tired of hearing goofballs (I don’t know if these people are really goofballs) talk about the law in the latest celebrate foul up or headline kidnapping, ect.
Now I come to what should be my favorite news network MSNBC, but I’m embarrassed by Chris Mathews, Big Keith, and Rachael Maddows. Mathews is so court up in democratic politics he can’t see the forest from the trees. Keith can’t get over his ESPN background (the worst person of the week or the 10 best plays of the week). Rachael is the flip side of Harrity, She still seems to be scratching on the black board,
I’m sure I missed a lot of commentators on “News” networks”, and even some anchormen and women.
I’m sorry I didn’t say anything about the=2 0king from Brooklyn. Or Jerry Rivera or the Wolf, I just haven seen them enough.


What ever happen to the old Soviet Union Television News Writers and Producers?

I was wondering the other day as I was watching Fox News, what ever became of the old Soviet Union’s news writers and producers?
I don’t think they came to America, even though every time I would see a Bush spokesperson or even the the ex-president himself I would say to myself sounds like a lot of cow dung, kind of what I’ve been told the old Soviet Union used to put out. I’m writing this of the time when the old administration was in power. They would give dry statistics that where misleading if not dead wrong. They would talk about winning a war that every one new that we were losing. hold on let digress for a moment. I can do that because this is my blog. We actually did win the war called Iraqi Freedom (I think that what they called it). The set goals of this conflict was to get rid of Sadam Husain and make sure that Iraqi didn’t have any weapons of mass destruction or the means to make them. No one can claim we didn’t meet our goals, Sadam is dead and Iraqi doesn’t have weapons of mass destruction (even though they never did, they don’t have them now).President Bush was right when he said Mission accomplished, now he backtracked on20something he got right the first time. The administration changed the goals in mid stream kind of like the old Soviet Union. The Bush administration kept telling us how wonderful the economy was and that we had nothing to worry about, just like the old Soviet news cast. What ever the Bush administration would say I would assume just the opposite. If it was pouring rain and I saw it, and the administration said it was raining I wouldn’t believe my own eyes. Sorry I digressed.
The Fox News channel is which in my (informed?) opinion should be called the Republican mouth piece on the tube. I at one time called the net work the Bush apology network. Anyway this proper gander machine sounds like the old communist television. Attack and make fun of what doesn't go along with the Republican program, just as the old Soviet stations would do. ( I love the Fox Logo Fair and Balanced. They should be sued for false advertising. Unless you consider lying and be lock in step with he Republican Party fair and balanced.)
The whole point of this exercise is trying explain that it’s very possible that the old Soviet Union writers and producers offered classes to the Republican party and Fox News how to slant the News. How to lie and make it seem like the truth.

The common sense approached to economics

What ever happened to the common sense approach to economics? That s not true there never was a common sense approach to economics. Take the approach to what we commonly call the great depression (this is compared to not so great depressions). Roosevelt our president at the time gave a stimulus package to end all stimulus package until now? The president’s stimulus package was called public works. Now in order to cover the cost of the public works program the president had to barrow money. There are many fools (I sorry I’m insulting real fools these people are just lazy) who believe that this prolonged the depression. There argument is that we had many depressions called panics before and we got out of them with out government interference. (Of cause these brilliant people never take into account that we were an agricultural society prior to the late 20s. (There are some people who actually claim that there was an agricultural depression prior to the crash of the stock market. I kind of agree with them)) The depression didn’t end with this stimulus package in American history. Yes this is totally true the great depression didn’t end with the first stimulus package. No the great depression ended with an even greater stimulus package known as World War II.
The problem with Roosevelt’s original stimulus package was the pay didn’t give the workers discretionary income. Another problem with Roosevelt’s stimulus package was he panicked with the deficit and raised taxes there by decreasing discretionary income, there by making the depression worst. My theory if right that if the population had larger discretionary income they would buy goods and services from the private sector creating more need for more workers, creating more wealth, creating a larger tax base, and greater income paying for the original stimulus package. If my theory is correct the current stimulus package is not enough. Not nearly enough. Of cause the majority of the world see things quite the opposite there scared of something that is different then what they were taught.If you don’t believe what I have written in this blog about President Roosevelt and the great depression all I have to say like the old professor would say you can look it up.


What Social Security is suppose to be.

I heard a lot about what social security is suppose to be from various sources, Television, newspapers and even the social security administration it self. I saw this in the Chief, the head of the New York Social Security Office stated that Social Security is part of a three leg stool (pension, savings, and social security.) The only problem that I see in this argument was no were in the social security law or quotes from President Roosevelt stated that this was the case. In fact when President Roosevelt signed the law he stated no longer will older Americans when they retire will have the fear of living in poverty (I’m paraphrasing the president). The Federal government originally opted out of Social Security for there pension was strong enough. State and city government also could have opted out. That Social security was part of a three legged stool as far as I can tell is just an other urban myth.
I understand that the original purpose for a 401k and IRA was a way for citizens to save not to replace pension plans but to supplement it.



What is a trillion dollars?

If you gave every person in this country one dollar that would equal 300 million dollars.
If you were to give everybody in this country 10 dollars you would have 3 billion dollars
If you were to give everybody a thousand dollars you would have 300 billion dollars.
If you were to give every person in this country 10 thousand dollars you would have 3 trillion dollars.

10 thousand dollars isn’t really that much money, is it?

Cash for clunker s

We all know that the American car companies are in the toilet(well I think we know that).
Our government is now giving money for people to more fuel efficient cars. Of cause the cowardly lions of this country are screaming there heads off. If they really lost their heads it would be no loss. Screaming their heads off is a figure of speech. I really didn’t mean for anyone to lose their heads. The car industry in this country is probably the 3rd most important industry behind the construction industry and the computer industry( I’m not counting finance because I just don’t feel like it). Retail is probably forth. Were not the only country that chooses to help the consumer, were just the only country were people complain about it. Do I think it will help the economy, no but it’s not going to hurt the economy. Now I keep hearing others giving their snide comments on what else we should give money to as cash for clunkers washing machines that are energy inefficient. Or cash for dilapidated houses that no one in their right mind would want ( You know the kind of place that guy with crazy hair sells). I have a better idea of the next cash for clunkers. Lets pay the voters a bounty for every clunker of an elected official they get rid of. Those are the clunkers that really need to go.




Lets ju st print the money

This country is full of know it alls.
Yes I’m one of them, a know it all. We have lost over 17 trillion dollars, and we have only replaced it with 1.5 trillion, and the best and the brightest why the recession isn’t over? People in state government are being furloughed therefore having less money to spend (less discretionary income)and our brightest still don’t understand why the recession isn’t over.Oh right one of our vaunted news magazine proclaimed the recessions is over.
I keep hearing that if the fed prints money we will have runaway inflation? The reason as everyone knows who took basic economics knows that inflation is caused by too much money chasing too few goods. It seems to me we only look at the first part too much money, what happened to the second part of the equations, too few goods. This happens when you have a bankruptcy such as GM and Chrysler as they cut the amount of cars being produced this should raise the price of cars ( unless the foreign car makers flood the market with their cars. the closing of refineries making refined oil products go up. This is the second part of the equation.
We all know what happened to the Germany after World War I when they started printing money. You needed a wheel barrow full of Marks just to buy a loaf of bread. I ask the question did printing money cause runaway inflation or was the printing of the Mark because their was runaway inflation because of the war reparations that the allies posed on Germany. We have another case of printing money and runaway inflation in Zimbabwe, again the lack of goods appears to be the real reason of runaway inflation.


The Great Big Paulie

Big Paul was the Fed chairman appointed by President Carter ( The most constipated fiscal conservative President in my life time). He is generally felt to be the greatest inflationary fighter in the 20th century. I consider him to be the man who almost single handedly brought down the economy. Of cause I was sleeping during the age age of Reagan. If you don’t believe all I can say is the only positive that I know he did was the collapse of the Soviet Union and I keep hearing what a great president he was. Reagan was so great that he belongs on Mount Rushmore. I keep hearing how he lowered taxes, funny my taxes went up after I couldn’t deduct interest from my credit card or my car. President cut and run Reagan of Lebanon fame who let over 300 marines die in vain leading to the belief in the Arab world that this country is soft. Any how getting back to Big Paulie under his tutelage as president of the Federal Reserve he became known as the great inflation fighter because he raised the interest to over 20%, which was also the unemployment rate ( equate s to 9% in the present day government reporting). When you raise interest rates the price of goods and services rise to help cover the cost ( my definition of inflation the price of goods and services rising). Now like I was saying in the beginning of this blog I was asleep during the the Reagan years, so I had to get this information from the Al Gore invention. Anyhow prices stabilized and employment recovered there by giving the rise to the belief that Big Paulie was the savior because he stuck to his guns. Of cause the collapse of oil prices had nothing to do with it,nor the pent up demand for goods and services outside the United States for our products because this was the start of major trade deficits, foreign nations had our money and was starting to buy the goods at that time we were the only ones producing ( which are now being produced overseas). Of cause Big Paulie had nothing to the collapse of the stock market because we had a new fed chairman who was put in place by the white House Chief of staff to ease the credit crunch just weeks before (Or so I believe I saw on CNBC that reported the crash of 87).



Canadian coming here because she couldn’t get her operation in Canada.


I saw that darn commercial were this Canadian woman said she couldn’t get her life saving operation in Canada, That9s why she doesn’t understand why we want to change our health care system.
My question to this woman is who paid for this operation? Did the tax payer in this country paid for it? Did the Canadian health insurance pay for it? Did she have enough money to pay for it herself. If she did she would have been better off go to Panama were over 10,000 Americans went for operations? I must live in a bizzaro world,depending were you live in this country and what your insurance is you might not get diagnosed at all (or even over diagnosed).

Oil Oil eveywhere thats why is the price is going up

Oil, oil everywhere but the price keeps going up.
Strange things are happening, especially when the refineries are filled, but no one can explain when why the futures of oil keep going up. Or can they.
Boy that Neil Cavillo (I probably got the name wrong) at Fox News says that it’s true for the Untied States by that Europe is recovering and they need the oil, and so does Asia.
Right, they’re recovering so much that it doesn’t matter that the largest user of the commodity known as oil can’t hold anymore, yet the price keeps rising.
History keeps telling us that when the price of oil goes up the economy goes down in this country. I refuse to talk about other counties, I just haven’t thought about them.
I do believe that the collapse of the price of oil in 87 saved us from a having a severe recession. The low price of oil contributed greatly to the Clinton boom.
The steep rise in oil was a major comtributator to the collapse of the Bush Economic collapse. Yea I know the collapse of the housing market is the official reason for the collapse. And yea I know there is a major minority who blames everything on the deficit.
I know, I know I just got off subject.
The question now is should the commodity know as oil be regulated too say this economy from going into major stagflation as was the case under past Presidents or should this administration stay on the sidelines In the long run it might be good for the country as alternative energy from in ground oil that has hostage to hostile countries will be cheaper then in ground oil. ( Those reading this might just be shaking their heads. Alternative to in ground oil might be from algae, grass or something else I can’t contemplate right now.)
Getting back to the question does oil speculators have the right to hold the rest of the country hostage. Can we stop it by executive order saying that we will not allow oil to come into this country over $50 a barrel and we’ll sell at that price from our oil reserves.
The speculators would either have to eat the oil or sell it to another buyer at a lower price then what they had planned. I don’t know who the speculators are or even if there just manipulators’ ( possibly even counties who need the price of oil to be hi to keep their economies from collapsing).
