I'm said to say that he free enterprise system as we know it maybe on it's last legs.
Not killed by governments, but by the system that makes it free.
As I seem to recall main and some would say the only purpose for a business is to make money.
The more money it makes the better it is for the business.
Now lets take a business, like the cable company. Now the cable company must have providers of networks that provide it with programs. Now these networks want the best price highest price for their product. The cable company wants to make the most money it can get, so what does it try to do, pass the money on to it's customers, high prices less customers. Less customers the less profits for the cable company, and with less people watch the network the less money that sponsors will want to spend.
Now lets take something that starts out as a commodity that necessary for modern life. Oil, that black stuff that when refined and burned will eventually kill( Surly I regress). We need this commodity to be cheap for we deliver goods and let people get around, but most importantly we need to deliver goods cheaply. If we can't well the less the consumer can buy, the less consumers can buy, well I don't need to write what that would do.
Of cause there are those who will say not to worry that the market will take care of it self.
Of cause these people are right, industries will be destroyed, lives lost, eventually just maybe new industries or just new business will emerge, proving my hypothesis slightly wrong. (Slightly).
*It's not government that hurts business, but business itself.
