We our the fattest in history.
We live longer then ever before.
Therefore being fat is healthier.
Taken by itself one can say that being fat is healthier, but there are so many variables as to why we live longer today that saying by being fat is healthier can be taken with a ton of salt.

Steve's barking that modern economics may be a Ponzi scheme
Got your attention.
I was talking the other day to some one who is pretty new to the work force, and that person was complaining about why should new workers pay into social security when it would not be there for those who are young and just starting out. I told this person even the worst case scenario those starting out would receive 75% of what they were entitled too.
As I was telling this I couldn't help but recall a bunch of no nothings telling me that Social Security was nothing more then a Ponzi scheme.
Now another more appropriate name for Ponzi scheme would be pyramid scheme. Now thinking over the stock market, that would be the perfect pyramid, new investors putting new money into stocks raising the price and wealth of previous investors, thus creating a pyramid type structure.
Now what about banks don't they take money from people with the promise to pay back with maybe a little interest, giving (lending) that money out to get interest, creating a pyramid type of deal, with the depositor on the bottom of the pyramid.
Now banks and stocks could go on for years, decades, or even centuries with out having to the investors or the depositors ever loosing a penny, but they are still party of a pyramid even though with out them there would probably be no economy.
There is nothing wrong with an economic pyramid. There is something wrong when the pyramid is based on a pack of lies, and even then it's possible to advance the economy, and not get caught.
The pyramid can and does get caught in bubbles.

Steve's barking steaming the ice and snow away.
I was looking at the snow that has turned to ice from the recent snow storms in the Bronx and started to think wouldn't it be great if we had a steam machine that would melt and break up the that darn snow and ice.
1st you would put water into a reserve, then you plug it into an electrical outlet to start the heater. 3 The electricity would start a heater. 4 The heater would heat the water creating steam. 5 The steam would turn a motor creating electricity for the heater plus steam to melt the ice and snow. 6 Unplug the ice melting machine taking it outside by the handle on top of the machine and the wheels on the bottom.7 Using an insulted hose as not burn ones self melt the ice and snow. 7 Have a vacuum like attachment to the machine to pick up the excess water putting it in the water reserve to make more steam making life so much easier in the north.

Steve's barking, He works hard for his money
Some billionaire (Sam Zell) claims that Billionaires work hard for their money that's why they deserve it. They must work harder then the guy with the jack hammer, the minor, the steel worker, the mother of six, or even the lawyer who puts in eighteen hours a day.
Mr Zell done busted my bubble, I though that Billionaires made their money because they were smart risk takers, what do I know, I'm not a billionaire.

Steve's barking what me worry about TWC Comcast merger.
Monopoly, monopoly, the sky is falling Time Warner Cable is being purchased by Comcast cable.
The problem with the monopoly scenario is that Time Warner Cable isn't a direct competitor of Comcast, but Verizon, and the various wireless companies when it comes to the Internet access. Oh I almost forgot places that give free WiFi. As far as the cable programing and vertical monopolies are concerned, that should have been addressed before Comcast bought NBC. The problem with a cable company owning programing it could charge outrages fees to competitors in broadcast alternative such as Hulu Plus, and Netflix for rebroadcast rights.
I can't help but wonder were was the indignation when over the air television started charging for broadcast rights of their channels that can be gotten over the air for free, thus justifying the cables companies for raising their rates. Maybe there's something wrong with me but this is a greater injustice then one company owning over 50% of all cable in the US, especially with cable companies losing customers in drove.
*Time Warner the content provider is a different company from Time Warner Cable.
** Most cable subscibers are paying programs they don't want. That wouldn't be bad enough but that several of none news networks make me and other retired government workers sound like evil incarnate.

Steve's barking at how the dinosuars really died off (satire)
Every one believes that dinosaurs died off because of a giant astroyed crashed into earth.
Not true. The real reason that dinosuares died out is because of a plant called nodung.that popped up all over the plant The herbavores ate them and couldn't poop. The plant had another strange effect when the animal died his decaying body let out no gas. The carnovoures were bitten by jurasic equalent of a modern day mosquito who passed on the properties of the nodung to them.
Because the giant repiles couldn't defocate or pass wind they died by exploding and those who didn't exploded died off because the earth got cold, for the atmospher couldn't keep the heat.
By the time this astroyed that we were all told about crashed into the earth because of this thin atmosphere that didn't let it burn up, all the dinosuares were dead.

Steve's barking getting a raise with no more money
There is a movement going on that the only way workers can get a raise is if they cover the cost of the raise by having give backs. Think that what ever new money a person gets will be taken away by paying more for their health insurance and or pension so that the worker gets no more take home pay
Why should any worker except a contract with no more money, ,especially with the price of goods and services going up.
It's even possible for workers to pay more taxes. Why would any workers except this.
Would a business person except a tax that the business wouldn't make any more money.

Steve's barking Obamacare is a disincentive to work?
I've just heard on the boob tube that the Affordable Health care act is a disincentive to work. I'm trying to digest that. Let me understand this, government helps with health care a person doesn't have to put a roof over their head? That a person works for a firm just for health care? Yes I know some people who work for benefits because they are married or in a domestic relationship were their partners need health insurance for the family, if they no longer need to work what's wrong with that? If the 1 point what ever percentage were to leave the work force, and we have a high unemployment, wouldn't that mean that those who are looking for work would have a greater chance to find work, thereby lowing the unemployment rate? What's wrong with that?

Steve's barking the myth of a middle class
When this country was in it infancy, we didn't have a class society we had , merchants, rich and poor land owners, workers, who were either well off because they had a trade that was in demand, or not so well off, and then we had workers who just got by, and then there were slaves. Now what we tend to think of the middle as those who were had a trade, but I don't think that they saw themselves as middle class.
I don't believe that any one in this country thought of themselves as middle class till after World War II.
I venture to guess that some economist who had nothing better to do decided to coin the phrase middle class.
In economics would a truck driver making 75 thousand dollars be called middle class. What would happen if he made 35 thousand dollars would he still be middle class or 25 thousand dollars would that truck driver be called middle class?
What a a teacher in college, would a full professor be called middle class, but not an adjunct who might make only 25 thousand dollars not be middle class? What about the student who hasn't worked a day in his or her life calling themselves middle class?
As I recall from my old history books in old European society you had the upper class , or royalty and land gentry, the merchant or the middle class and the poor or peasants with the tradesman falling some were in between the middle class and the peasants. That definition of class is so outdated.
Now my whole working life I always considered myself just above poverty till I was able to get to the point of lower middle income.
I see poverty today in the US as under $35,000 with no more then $1,000 in savings . Poor as under $50,000, Lower middle $55,001 till $75,000 middle income as $75,000 to $ $125,000. Then we have upper middle income to $ 400,000. Now we come to the income packets of well off, wealthy, extremely wealthy, rich, and for those who take showers only in money, filthy rich.
A classless society is not a communist idea, many though not all of America's founding fathers believed in a classless society.
I myself am extremely classless, I think it's funny to pass gas at the kitchen table.
