Steve's barking at we don't need no stinken protectionism

We don't need no stinkin protectionism.
We can start an industry and make it flourish even though other counties are making the product extremely cheap and make it work. ( Think China and solar panels). If you believe this I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.
Some counties are upset that if new stimulus is passed their will be a provision that says buy American.
(Think steel and Canada). Don't we have trade agreements?

Now there's a belief  that protectionism protectionism made the great depression worse.
No sensible logic has been stated as to why it made worse. I guess that dumping of excess manufactured goods on a unsuspecting country which can't sell it's own excess manufactured goods some how creates jobs in all the depressed counties. Sounds right to me.
