Their are many people in this world who consider themselves smart. Their so smart that they believe that the money supply should stay the same or ever so slightly go up as to be tied with gold.
These brilliant people never explain if population grows wouldn't that mean that the money supply depletes in relationship to the population. This being so we have a monetary depreciation of money.
Never mind the Midas's who wants it all as if money was some kind of game and the only way to win is to have more then the next person. In the game of survival that's not how the game is played.
Now I don't know how business is taught in Harvard, University of Chicago, or even Stanford, but I do understand that you need debt to succeed. Our politicians who are afraid of debt must be really lousy business people, or if they were successful in business before they decided to serve the country, they were probably idiot savant's who knew how to run their business but not very good in finance.

Steve's barking; Trump=Hover or Roosevelt
On the campaign trail Donald Trump made like Teddy Roosevelt a rich man of the people. As he picks his cabinet he appears to be a man of the Republican bosses. Only time will tell.
Steve Barking; Watching a train wreck inside the train
Being an American who runs to car accidents out of curiosity as most my fellow countrymen do. Now we're going to watch a economic train wreck, the economic terrorist have taken over the U.S. economy.
Let's destroy foreign trade so that we can have runaway inflation.
Let's devalue the currency, so the cost of natural resources can go up. Yea we can sell our natural resources cheap, and for us Americans we have rising inflation.
For all those who complain that they paid into Social Security, and Medicare and they are not entitlements, the Repulican Party made it plain they they intend to destroy them as if they were welfare for the aged. Thanks for hurting the elderly consumer.
So we hire people who think it a good decision to have private roads, so that the delivery trucks have to pay exorbitant prices to ship goods from one place to another, just hope that inflation is high enough so that it can be purchased. Same with water. Purchase water and you can't afford that cable bill or the internet.
Continuing on, our companies are being run on cheap money, I'm positive that if the cost of money goes up a majority of public companies will be in deep trouble.
Ability to purchase goods and services in several years out for the majority of my fellow citizens will be a hardship.
Tariffs go both way and the purchasing of America's goods and services will be hard for the citizens of other counties.

Steve's barking: The inmates have taken over the asylum
When you look at the incoming administration you can say the old American saying inmates have taken over the asylum.
Hiring people who don't believe in the department that they head.
The president elect must be trying to destroy America with out really trying.

Steve's Barking: Was an Audit done on the voting machines?
A major candidate for the president of the United States claimed that their there will be voter fraud if he didn't win.
He won.
I guess there wasn't any voter fraud.
Just to be on the safe side after the election several voting machines in several precincts, in several states should be confiscated and tested to see if there was any tampering with the machines.
Now why should a simple audit to find out if there was any tampering with voting machines?
Well if I wanted to rig an election I would get some technicians to change several votes to the candidate that I wanted to win.
It's the easiest way to possibly change votes and in some cases even the technician wouldn't know it.

Steve's Baking; And the so called leader of a he free world is a follower
President elect Trump in my crazy opinion won not because he was a leader, but because he was the greatest follower of what was put on Twitter, Facebook. I came to this conclusion when I started getting messages on my Facebook page about term limits. Before this became a big deal on Facebook no one heard a peep out of Donald about term limits suddenly it's a big deal on Facebook, the president elect is all for it.
Made me think I f the other things he said like putting up a wall on the Mexican border, not an original idea. Fear of Muslims emigration, not original.
It appears to me that we don't have a leader who leads, but one who's a cheerleader in chief.
One who echos louder then anyone and possibly a plagiarist in chief.

Steve's barking; I don't live in America
I don't live in America, I live on fantasy island.
Judging from my Face book friends who voted for the duck and others Republicans, they complain that they put into Social Security and it's been stolen and Medicare that going to foreigners and then vote for people who want to take it away from them.
They believe that manufacturing jobs are coming coming back, and that roads and bridges fix themselves, and no one has to pay for them.
They want our armed force veterans to have health care for life, something we have already.
They want term limits, yet still vote for the same tired persons.
Yea I live on Fantasy Island. So I keep telling my fellow Fantasies, keep on fantasizing..

Steve's barking; Sorry Clinton fans Comey didn't change Clinton voters into Trump voters
Exit poles indicate that Trump voters were voting for Trump before Comey came out and said the FBI was investigating e-mail From Anthony Weiner's computer.
Maybe Democrats would have won if they hammered home they are the savior of Social Security,Medicare, and declaring a interest holiday on student loans. I'm talking about House, and Senate seats, plus the presidency.

Steve's barking; Trump not paying taxes is all Greek to me
what was the main reason the the Greek economy went south?
Failure to pay taxes.
So the president is proud that he didn't pay taxes!
Will the rest of America try and be successful in not paying taxes?
Is America going south?
****For those who were on a porn site and pressed next and got this....Surprise.

In regard to my last blog, it appears that I'm just an average quack.

Steve's Barking; Under over 90 Million voters in Nov 8th presidential election
It's almost over folks, and the winner will be Hillary Clinton big if the votes cast are over 90million.
The Duck has his supporters who I would venture to quest is 40 million, who in most likelihood were there from the time he won the nomination, he may have added a couple of million along the way.
It wouldn't surprise me if Johnson pulls close to ten million votes. Stein getting a million votes would.
So in a couple of days my tinny, tinny world can find out if I'm a good pundit or just an average quack.

Steve's Barking;If I would say I wouldn't do my job I would be fired
Almost any job a person says that I wouldn't do my job they would be fired.
Why do congress persons say that they wouldn't do their job by voting on Supreme Court justice or vote down any nomination that a Democrat president puts up for the court, we the people wouldn't fire them by voting for their opponents.

Steve's Barking; It's irrelevant
When watching some boob on the boob tube saying this is the worst recovery from a recession since 1949 I can't help thinking we have the lowest inflation rate from a recovery since 1949 and that's a good thing.
We have foreign competition and if you believe in the free market that's a good thing.
Oh and judging from the current political discorce were afraid of competition in the world market place.
At one time there were six workers for every retire can't collecting Social Security, now there are only three, soon too be only two and a half. That too should be irrelevant after all the excess money went into buying bonds. And after the bonds are no longer there, we just have to remove the cap on income and the money for my daughter's Social Security should be there.

Steve's Barking; They don't speak the same language on the budget
Oh the budget deficit doubled under President Obama,
Oh why are those conservatives complaining about, the president has cut the budget deficit in half!
Who's right?
Can they both be right?
Both can prove that they are right, proven that they don't speak the same language when it comes to the budget.

Steve's Barking; Are the rates for healthcare going up because of Obamacare.
If we Americans must by private healthcare insurance are the rates going up 25% do to the Afordable Health Care Act, or would they go up that amount anyway? There is no way to prove it, one way or another. Insurance companies charge what ever the market will bare.

Steve's barking; How to lose a trillion dollars in value with out even trying
There are a lot of know it alls out there who complain that the bond yields are too low.
Just think, wouldn't a lot of investors run from the stock market to the bond market, so how many billions will those multi billionaires lose?
What's the breaking point of companies that are leveraged up if interest rates start rising?
Will a company like Amazon become the new Enron?

Steve's barking; High crimes and misdemeanors
Wouldn't it be a hoot if the U.S. Election is really about voting for Mike Pence or Tim Kaine.
The Constitution of the United States states that two of the grounds for impeachment are high crimes and misdemeanors. Well Republicans in the senate hate both the duck and the thorn. They both have done questionable things that some can construe as a high crime or even a misdemeanor.
Trial by the senate could null and void the election, putting the winning Vice President in the Oval Office.
This scenario is possible but not probable.

Steve's Barking; Do sanctions really work?
Iran came to the bargaining table and promised new to make the bomb ( the atomic that is) .
Now I ask (myself) did they come to the table because of sanctions or did they see a good thing when they saw it? The sanctions after all didn't stop sponsoring destabilization which was the purpose of the sanctions in the first place. Maybe the bargaining was because trade was needed by those imposing sanctions?
The U.S.has been imposing sanction on Cuba since Hector was a pup but did that change the leadership of Cuba, or the way the only island is governed? Nah, only when trade was needed was the sanctions loosened and Cuban people are better off from it.
The world has had sanctions against North Korea since it became a rogue state and what can be said of the grass eating Korea. It's just as belligerent as before, and perhaps more so as the sanctions are tightened.
What about Russia and the the sanctions the world or at least some of the world placed on it? Well it appears from my living room that they've become Cold War scary.
Well who does it appear that sanctions hurt, why the people of the countries that have sanctions against them, and the companies that want to do business with them.
We're humans for crying out load can't we figure better ways of handling aggressive behavior

Steve's barking; Amazon the new Sears
Amazon is a E commerce machine.
Sears was a snail mail machine.
Sears kept changing, first mail order, then stores are in the big cities, the by golly that set up shop in the suburbs. But let's not forget they had the juggernaut of Mail Commerce of their day selling everything under the sun, even setting their own brand darn if Amazon isn't doing that now with online shopping.

Steve's Barking; Bringing back the horse drawn milk wagon
Why don't those charlatans that claim to know all about the economy and are screaming about the loss of good jobs to foreign countries and the decline of wages in the good old US of A demand that we bring back the horse drawn milk wagon . The horses don't pollute the same way trucks do, plus there's nothing like good old fashion fresh milk from the dairy. These were good paying ( in their day) jobs.
The jobs that have left America are not the best jobs of the new economy. Even the manufacturing jobs that remained such as making of cars. They don't pay the salaries that they us to pay.
Why oh why do those economic possers use a static that had has no rational in the new economic realty: this is the worst economic recovery from a recession. Inflation is only 1.5% growth.
We have low inflation except in New York City and San Francisco and North Dekota.
We have a 4.9% unemployment rate ( a highly unreliable statistic, but compared to the underemployment and those not looking for work stats it like the holly grail of stats).
As I've written before we have more jobs that aren't be filled that pay well enough. We're are the future truck drivers, mechanics and tool dye makers coming from.
Before America starts bringing jobs back from other countries, we should take a hard look at if the jobs that have left are worth bringing back. Stop being nostalgic about the past and look to the future economics

Steve's Barking; I can't stand the main stream media
I can't stand the main stream media. They don't tell the truth. There picking on my candidate.
Or if you're the duck, they're picking on me. And they lie about me so say it the duck.
Now me personally I don't read the real main stream media, the Wall Street Journal (the largest circulation newspaper in America). I don't follow Fox News channel the largest rated news channel in the US. And for that matter I don't listen to talk to radio.
Just think, I'm in the demographics, old white man, who's angry as hell and I just don't follow the main stream media.
I do read main steam NY Times abridged addition on my I Pad. Oh I do watch the local news and that loser station CNN. So when I hear the complaints about main stream media I have no idea what those crazes are talking about.

Steve's barking; When is foreign aide not foreign aide
When is foreign aide not foreign aide?
Answer: When it's a work program for the country giving it's!
Israel just got a ten year military agreement worth 310 billion dollars paid for by the US tax payers.
Israel can only use that money to buy United States military equipment.
Now you can call it anything you want, I call a works program that benefits the military industrial complex.
Food aide benefits the American Farmer.
I'm not against foreign aide that helps both the nation that receives it, just as long as it's understood that it's a benifit to Americans.
It's funny that there are congress people who would vote down any aide to farmers, workers or big industrial companies, but would not blink a eye if you rap it around foreign aide.

Steve's barking; I'm human chum for nonprofits
I can't believe it but I'm human chum for nonprofits
I think giving to charities is great, but if you give to one it seems that every charity under the sun thinks that you have sucker written on my far head.
Those professional fundraisers sure know how behave like a bunch of sharks smelling blood in the water. I can count on you for fifty dollars right. The cancer, ex soldiers who can't get a job from the poor Indian reservation who's children haven't eaten a good meal and only eat dirt because they are refugees from the planet Mars. Oh by the way what's your credit card number. Don't forget I get a piece of the action, a big piece of the action.
Those are only the private nonprofits. I'm also shark bait for the Democratic Party. You really don't want Donald Trump to be president do you? For only five, ten, twenty dollars a day you can stop Donald Trump from being the next president of the United States.
I've heard that the Repulican party does the same thing on their pitch is for only five, ten twenty dollars you too can stop ********* Hillary from being the next president of the United States.
I't just came to my attention that a my blog went out with nothing in it. Holly s**t.

Steve's barking; The News can't be true, it's not what I believe
The main stream media doesn't tell the truth.
How do I know, it's not what I believe.
When we read or hear news from sources that aren't aligned with our prejudices we blame the news media. If they tell us stories that our aligned with our prejudice we claim that there the truth tellers.
Did you ever hear a person who said don't trust the New York Times they are such a liberal outlet, then the next day quoting them because that liberal paper backs up that persons belief.
Then there is those wuss politicians who cry every time a news media says something they don't like.
Or even those would be politicians who claim there is bias in the way they cover them. Oh it's that main stream media that's are telling lies about me.
Of cause there are enough people who are prejudice that they buy the whinnying.
I'm one of those people who have his own prejudice, but I hope I have enough sense to understand the truth from the garbage, and not believe everything that I read and hear from the various media even though it just might feed my prejudice.

Steve's barking; The Monday morning president
Here in the states we have what is called a Monday morning quarterback.
This old expression came from the fact that football (the American kind) for college was played on Saturday and the professional kind was played pretty much on Sunday. It used to be the the quarterback would call the plays. We whom did not play the game would question the plays on Monday morning. We all know that we could call better plays then the quarterback.
Of cause there are plenty of people in the U.S. who believe that they can call the plays of the government better then the president. I like to call these people Monday morning presidents.
In fact we have on running for president this year.
I wonder if in Fance, England and even Russia there are Monday morning premiers.

Steve's barking; So you think you know why the stock and bond markets tanked today
Today the stock market and the bond market was steeply lower.
If you listen to the talking heads on CNBC they have you believe that the reason for this strange phenomenon is because the Federal Reserve might raise interest rates.
Yesterday the US congress voted unanimously that Saudi Arabia could be sued for 9/11.
Now I can't prove that Saudis started selling US bonds and stocks because there is no information out there of who was selling but it's as good a theory as any.
Of course when stocks start falling margins are called and panic sets in,making a bad situation even worse.

Steve's barking; Old age Armageddon
We of the west are going old.
We need more health care.
Our government old age retirement funds our underfunded. (We'll I've read on some blogs, that have been picked up by some papers).
Our healthcare systems are under stress, the government system in Europe and the crazy laissez fare of the United States.
Now in the days of yesteryear the work force would keep growing and the taxes of the workforce would more the cover the cost. Ah but the working population is shrinking compared to the retired population.
Our countries our weary of immigrants. So having more immigrants doesn't seem to be the answer. So what is the answer?
The answer to these problems from the government's of Western nations is to keep taxes low or lower.
Cut or keep the same amount of moneys going into these programs.
The problem with cutting or not paying enough into these programs is the growing part of the population will not be able to afford new products having an unforeseen negative consequences on the economies of Western Nations.
Given this scenario either raise taxes or have an economic implosion.
This isn't rocket science.

Steve's barking; checking the blood of babies with brain damage from Zeka virus
In my unscientific view maybe we should check the blood type of the children who have brain damage from the Zeka virus. If by chance they all have the same blood type and all the mothers have the same blood type we could treat those with that blood type differently then those who don't.
If we discover it doesn't matter, discovery is by trial and error.

Steve's Barking;Obama's Economic stimulas package worked
President Obama's stimulus package worked.
Let me repeat that President Obama's stimulus packed worked.
A stimulus package should be a one time thing ( Reducing taxes doesn't seem to do that so I would call reducing taxes a bad stimulus).
President Obama's stimulus package can be compared to jump starting a cars battery.
Europe's Austerity program is like draining a cars battery.
Why do I say that the stimulus package worked?
People got money in their pockets. They needed goods and services and businesses provided them. The economy started to roll. A car generally can run for quite some time after a jump start even though it may soon need a new battery.

Steve's barking; America's health care industry shouts socialize m
I read the news today oboy! Medicine that is needed by a few to save their lives going up one hundred, two hundred, three hundred percent, and these medicines were event invented by these pharmaceutical companies. There putting a giant neon sign on top of their CEOs head saying please, regulate me. I'm making my product unaffordable to the masses that need them, thereby making their drugs useless to most.
We in the States must have terrible private health insurance companies, after all they can't figure out how to make a profit in all markets. That's telling the government that it must provide health insurance.
It say so in the constitution the government provides for the general welfare.
America did it in the thirties when rural America didn't have electricity, it created things like the Tennessee Valley Authority. Rural America now has electricity because of the government.
If the health insurance companies aren't careful the government will offer insurance and if it's good the rest of America will demand the same.

Steve's barking; I don't believe air news
I read on the Internet crazy stories that when checked out are absolutely wrong.
Were do these stories come from. Why they come from some person or persons pulling them out of the air.
The problem with that is organizations who like to take themselves seriously put these stories out as real and true. It doesn't matter if they're on the left, right after or in between they take these stories and make like they are spreading the whole truth and nothing but the truth when all they are spreading is some body's crazy fantasy.
Now I've seen quotes from dead old people on the net, were people believe that these ex persons said them, but study these ex people you would know that they would hardly say such things. If it fits a
Groups personal agenda they pull the quote out the air and it eventually is believed as they garsh honest truth.
Counties have been doing this for years, to make their youth die for them.
Some religious leaders have pulled religious quotes out of the air to keep the faithful in line, and even
go against the real truth of their religion.
*I've cleaned it up, stories and quotes aren't plucked out of the air, they're actually pulled out of the persons backside.

Steve's barking: Why I'm voting for Elmer Fudd for President
I'm going to write in Elmer Fudd for president.
He's a real cartoon character not just behaving like one as the four main contenders for the presidency are doing.
Elmer Fudd says he's going to catch that wascally wabbit. Every body knows he's not going to do it just like everybody knows that the four main contenders aren't going to keep their campaign promises.

Steve's Barking; Why are old school retailers in trouble?
Old school retailers are in trouble in the United States because in this computer age they can't implement fast enough.
Why did't Sears the inventor of the catalog which one can call the original on line selling be quick enough to have challenged Amazon for e commerce.
JC Penny did fantastic business with it's catalog, it too missed the boat.
Retailers have got to do something in this turnaround age that they must be nibble and quick.
Just clossing down stores is not the answer.
If major retailers think they can make money from their real estate holdings they are in for a rude awaking, unless they can use the real estate to create a new kind of store for themselves, the're distroying more American jobs, and their profits will be slimmer.

Steve's Barking; Let's not bring low paying jobs back.
I'm not a fan of America's trade pacts. But as I look and see what America has lost when most of the, companies have taken their jobs to a lower wage country I ask myself are those jobs worth coming back to America. A great majority of these jobs that were lost were minimum paying jobs in poor working conditions.
We lost many a good paying job, but they were hard and dangerous, were the life expectancy is shorter then those of the rest of the population. Do we really want those jobs back.
I've written it before we have a shortage of workers for better paying jobs, such as machinist, truck drivers, mechanics. If we match people and train them America might just have a negative employment problem( we might have it right now).
What's wrong with having workers of other counties having enough money to buy our products?
What's wrong with having a low inflation rate?
If many of those manufacturing jobs came back inflation would increase. (Manufacturing wage inflation has been negligible in the major industrial nations),
As a fixed income person I get very upset with politicians who are living in a fantasy world and the only thing that they could accomplish for me and other retires is making it hard to live on the money I receive.

Steve's barking; Something for nothing
We the world wide people want better medical care.
We the world wide people don't want to pay for.
So we the people set up bureaucracies. Here in the States it called insurance companies and Medicare and Medicaid in other advanced counties it's called single payer or in some cases single payee.
In some instances bureaucracies are good, but when it gets in the way of good health it's not.
I may not be the smartest guy in the room but I know enough to realize that we need more doctors, we need more hospitals and we need to pay our healthcare professionals more.
My foolish oppinion is that we should have a separate tax for healthcare and not place in the general budget. The tax should be high enough in each country to pay for all needed health services and a reserve for unforeseen medical emergencies.

Steve's barking; What should be done if a company wants to build a factory in a foreign country
What should a country do to when a company wants to move jobs to a different country.
There ought to be a law that any workers to be replaced will get six months severance pay starting on the date the deal is signed. And no the worker doesn't have to put another day on the job.
If the company wants to keep the workers until the new employees are place they must pay any worker three days pay for every day worked and base a severance package on the amount of extra pay they are receiving for at least twelve months after the last day of work.
If a worker doesn't want to except working for the company that's taking their job, there shall be no penalty.

Steve's barking; Yea, let's have world wide run away inflation
Let's do away with all trade treaties, so that we can bring back industry to the old industrial world.
Let's have no more competition among countries.
Let's have good paying jobs that no one can afford the end product, not even those who make the product.
Let's bring back manufacturing so that the central banks can do their job in fighting inflation and having companies close down.
Let's bring back those jobs in the coal mines, steel mills and other such jobs that only a generation ago the parents who worked in those dangerous and backbreaking jobs wanted their children to have any job but.
Yes let's get back to the nightmare of yesterday.
Yes the US is hemorrhaging some great manufacturing jobs and then this must stop, but once the job is gone it's gone the advantage to the consumer if the jobs come back is negative.

Steve's barking; Voting for profection.
We in the States demand from our opposition leaders to be perfect.
Sometimes we even demand that the person or persons that we vote for make the perfect decisions.
Our leaders can't be human. They must have the wisdom of G-d, for after all we know that G-d is perfect.
Of cause if we're true believers of our president we of cause will look the other way no matter what blunder, or crossedness they committed. For most of us we'll dwell on the blemishes, and too many of us the issues be damned.
I assume that in other countries that being also the truth.

Steve's barking; The Duck has a lot of catching up to do
Donald ( The Duck) Trump had a lot of catching up to do!
He's proud of the fact that he got 14 million votes in the Republican primaries.
The fact of the matter is 118 million votes were cast in the last general election.
Well the rest of the pack got 15 million and assume that 80 percent vote for the duck, so that gives him 26 million votes.
Now let's assume that 20 percent of of those voted are so pissed off that they don't vote and 10 percent vote for a third party meaning that Hillary and the Duck are fighting for about 83 million votes.
Now 83 minus 26 equals 57 million. Now most of these votes belong to Hillary, because they're Democrats through and through. So the Duck has his work cut out for himself self.
Why nickname the Duck.
Ducks giving tax information.
Ducks giving specifics on Social Security.
Ducks being honest.
Ducks telling the truth on his businesses.
* Number aren't exact so don't hold me to it.

Steve's barking;Voting against my best intrest
Believe or not the two major presumptive candidates expect me to vote for them. The Duck wants me to vote for him so he can blow up trade treaties. Now I may not be as smart as him but I'm positive that bringing back all those manufacturing jobs would bring gross inflation, and because I live on a fairly fixed income, huge inflation would have a devastating effect on me.
Now the Democratic presumptive nominee wants to go partial fix of Social Security, instead of having everybody no matter how much you make, having everyone pay the same percentage let's .have a donut hole, stop everyone from paying the same, those making from $110,000 till $250,000(?) don't pay the 6 plus percent after the $110,000. Those making (?) over $250,000 pay the full amount of Social Security tax. Then on top of that there talk of enhancing Social Security. As I see that puts us in the same place as before, Social Security will only pay if I should live so long, 75% of what was promised in year 2033.
Now the presumptive Democratic nominee says that the health care system isn't broken and only a minor tweet will fix it. As my Medicare supplement begins to rise. If one doesn't know what's wrong with the system you can't fix it.
The numbers that I stated about Social Security aren't exact numbers, so please don't lose your wigs over them.

Steve's barking; Bad news for the Republicans if "The Duck " wins
For all those who worry if Donald "the duck " loses the presidential election that the Republican Party would be in trouble, I'm stating just the opposite, if The Duck wins he would shatter too many beliefs on how to win election. He would be not have listened to anyone. He be his own man. The independence of Republican congressmen and woman to get special treatment for their districts or state would be in jeopardy.
The whole way the political parties look at elections would change? Or possibly the Duck would be America's Cromwell and after him, things will go back to the way they always were.

Steve's barking; The Duck is a muddled headed liberal
Donald (the duck) Trump wants to talk with Pak Pung Ju of North Korea. He wants to have better relations with Russia... Now if he was a Democrat he would be called a muddled headed liberal.
Dom Clinton has a get tough policy that if she was a Republican would be called a war monger (neocon)conservative.
That shows me how crazy my American political world has become.

What's wrong with the EU?
1. No common taxation.
2. No common language.
3. Undemocratic.
4. Too bureaucratic.
5. Rich States don't pay their fair share(?).
6. No common budget. ( each country in the E U has a budget that covers each state, why can't the E U have a common budget.
In the Untied States richer states pay more into the federal budget the poorer states.
This observation from some one who hasn't followed the E U very closely.

Steve's barking; I trust (believe in) science
I trust that all mater is made of molecules, even though when I look at my hand it's seems very solid.
Even though if I smack my hand it hurts. It seems hard to imagine, but I believe that there's empty space between atoms that and atoms have empty space in them. I just trust it's true.
I also trust that those who figured that out were smarter then me.
I trust that climate change is real that humans have a hand in it. I understand this from 9th grade general science ( which they don't have classes anymore in NYC schools). CO2 lets heat in from the sun and traps much of it from going out. I also trust NASA that they are placing thermometers all over the earth and our recording record breaking heat. I trust in that to be true., even though I have caveats as other unknowns might be intensifying the earth heating up.
I trust that scientist are constantly questioning what is believed to be true.
There are those who believe that heaven and earth was made in six days. Who am I to argue with them, after all what is a day. We know what an earth day from the system devised by unknown geniuses (mathematical), but what is the measurement of universal time?
While I'm thinking about it does time speed up in space, or does it slow down?
Is there a lack of gravity between galaxies and does gravity between stars slow or speed up the speed of light?
Is it faster to navigate in space then we have imagined?

Steve's barking; It's not how much you spend on the military it's how you spend the money
It's silly season in the United States. It's been silly season since January when the presidential politics started.
The book big thing that those running for office blabbering on about is money spent on the military.
Let me get my nickels worth in, we can spend 10 times what the next country spends, but it's the quality of what you buy that really counts. If you're spending your money on high price kitchen help were in n the old days it was done by the ordinary soldiers ( we used to call it KP).
If we spend billions on aircraft that doesn't work. It doesn't doesn't matter how much you spend, especially if your enemy who is spending less has better equipment because the adversary has to be.
I almost forgot, the cost of all countries are cheaper to make weapons and the pay is lower, so yes the adversary might just have a monetary advantage.
Is military procurement a Republican works program? Sometimes I wonder.

Steve's barking; Wage inflation and the Fed.
Watching them damn business news stations, and what did I hear, there's a slight increase in wage inflation. I certainly hope so. The minamum wage is going up, whether by force by state and local government or by competition and this being what I learned in high school is a good thing. If a government tries to curb this lower end wage inflation that would be a bad or even disastrous out come.
No one ever mentioned CEO wage inflation.
No one ever mentioned CEO wage inflation.
Steve's barking; No businesses do not go in a straight line
I must have too much time on my hand, I've been watching too much business news tv.
It seems that every time a stock goes down it do to the fact that the company didn't make as much money as should be expected if the company revenue and profits went in a straight line upward.
Now I know of no business course that teaches a profit goes up in a straight line.
The only reason any stock broker would sell a stock that didn't go up in a straight line is he wanted to make money and selling that stock that the company didn't go up in a straight line is a great excuse.

Steve's Barking; The economics of American political chaos, theory that is!
The economics of American polical chaos or ehhh things ain't so bad.
The theory of economic American political chaos is not something anyone would find in books of economics, or for that matter in any history books, it just some foolish observation.
The best economy in the US in the past forty years occurred with a Democratic president (Clinton and Obama) and ( not Rebublican or Conservative) obstructionist congress. Little got done but the economy grew by leaps and bounds. The Democratic presidents and their minions took full credit.
Now if a person looking at this snap shot and not listen to the presidential partisan politics, chaos in government is good for the economy, the politicians can't gum up the works.
Don't try this if your country has a parliament, were new elections can take place if the pime minister has too much hair up his or her nose. It worked(?) in America twice.
Maybe we in America should vote Libertarian Party or in certain circles, the do nothing party, or as some people might say do nothing and no harm shall be done.

Steve's Barking; Poles, it don't mean a thing till Sept
Why does anyone care what the poles say in the U.S. Presidential race. No body gives a sh*t until September.
As anyone who has followed American presidential politics will tell you that hardly anyone really thinks of the presidential politics once the nominees have been selected. We Americans can now worry about our sun tans until September when the elections get into full swing.
Nobody even watches the conventions anymore. It's not must see TV like when I was a boy.

Steve's barking; Is the idea of an American or any countrie's business dying
With companies moving from country to country just to avoid taxes.
Large companies buying very little companies in foreign lands just to avoid taxes.is the idea of an American company still valid?
With companies from foreign land buying companies that are American is still valid that company is still America?.
If GE bought Mercedes-Benz, is Mercedes-Benz still a German company?
If the changing hands with corporate headquarters changing from country to country changes from a trickle to a flood perhaps we of the world perhaps should think of common pay and workers rights along with the a new way of collecting taxes.

Steve's barking; unintended consequences
Life is full of unintended consequences. We helped lessen disease by burning garbage only to discover burning garbage is bad for our lungs.
We did quantities easing to money into the monitary system but at the same time we demand that banks have high reserves. The good news is that the Federal reserve has 4.5 Trillion in our debt. If one wants to be deep in thought, that person can say hay we reduced the deficit by 4.5 Trillion.
The bad news is if people started believing that we can reduce our deficit any time we want to by having the Federal Reserve print money and buy all our debt.
Another unintended consequence is that we set up higher reserves for our banks, of cause that takes money out of the system that can be lent. Unintended consequence, deflation (maybe).
If we realize what the unintended consequences are we must make decisions if the planned action are for the better, or the consequences make lives worse.
*Better to have deflation, and a slower increase in economic growth then have a banking meltdown.
** If the Federal Reseve charter doesn't say that it must sell the bonds that it has on the open market, we have great breathing room.

Steve's barking; Hillary Clinton is like Donald Trump in drag!
Ahhh how can one say that? Hillary Clinton is not like Donald Trump,
Oh! They both exaggerate their accomplishments!
They both complain that they are being picked on!
One complains about immigrants taking Jobs, the other claims that men 27 cents on the dollar then women, both are extreme exaggerations.
They both pander to their audience.
They both tell scare stories about each other, yet one attended the others wedding.
One appears to be running for president to,increase his brand, the other's appears to be running for president and increases her husbands charity organization to,get more doners.

Steve's Barking; Saudia Arabia threatens to sell it's US bonds and.....
It's in the news, Saudi Arabia is threatening to sell it's US bonds if the United States congress allows
victims of the 9/11 attacks to sue Saudis for that attack.
If the Saudis sell their $700,000,000 in bonds all at one time it would a disaster for them.
The price that they would get would be at a deep discount, hurting their welfare programs now that oil is selling at a very low price. If they sell at slow and steady, well that's what there suppose to do, supplementing their oil based revenue so they keep up their welfare.
Would the selling of The Saudi bonds hurt the U.S. bond market, don't bet on it. Because of the deep discount the bonds would be gobbled up.
The aftermath probably will be slightly higher treasury notes with no real damaging effect.

Steve's barking; No the Euro Zone is not the United States
Now I do recall when the Euro Zone came into existence, it was called by some the next great trading block. It would even have it's own currency. Some even called it the next United States, with it open borders, and the elimination of trade barriers.
Now problems have come up, that the United States had in it's birth. Freedom of states vs centralized economic control. Taxes from that are higher in one state compared to another. Some times co operation is hard for fear that of one state would have more pull then the other.
The barrier that the United States didn't have is that the US has a common language though one wouldn't know it by how each state interprets US laws.
The US centralized government does thing for the good of all the states, which from this side of the ocean doesn't appear to be happening in Europe.
We in the United States have besides having a state and local tax system, have a greater centralized tax system.
While most don't understand richer states subsides poorer states (example New Yorkers pay more taxes then New York gets back from the Federal Government, Kentucky citizens pay less taxes then Kentucky gets back from the federal government).
The weird thing, Kentucky politicians complain about how New York spends it's money.

Steve's barking; Registering for voting and not voting is like........
If you are registered to vote or vote only every so often it's like having your ears pierced and not having a stud in the hole.
The best protest one can have is when a group doesn't want you to vote and you find a way to vote anyway.
When African Americans complain about unfairness and they are the majority and they don't vote, making them a minority in the voting community they have met the enemy and they are it.
When we complain about Gerrymandering and we don't vote in all elections, well as Pogo said in the comics, we have met the enemy and he is us.

Steve's Barking; Another taxing idea
I have another really stupid idea ( to some people anyway)why not have an international tax on all business of lets say 2% of all profits, dividing it up evenly to all the nations of the U.N.
It wouldn't end taxes that one country can place on it's corporations, but it would certainly help small counties and third world counties who have very little income.
In theory it would help the poor counties buying power. It would help rich countries get a small amount of the money that isn't taxed because the company ran to a tax haven.
How would you make countries comply to have companies in their countries be taxed on an international scale. Easy if enough countries sign the pact, those who don't can't sell their products made in their countries to companies that do sign the pact for an internation tax.
I can see it now, me being called a commie B****d. A traitor to my country. A total fool.what an *ss hole.

Steve's barking; His nomination means the death of the Republican Party
His nomination means the death of the Republican Party, so said the when Barry Goldwater became the nominee of the Republican Party in 1964.
Was it the end of the Repulican Party. Not hardly. So even if Donald Trump is the Republican Parties nomination and they go down in inglorious defeat Democrates shouldn't gloat but should strive even harder, and not be the party of arrogance as they were after the 64 election.

Steve's barking; How we look at employment inflation is all wet
Fresh water American economist, and American salt water economist may misunderstand why there is no wage inflation in the US of A. First of all there is wage inflation in certain sectors of the economy, as it should be, as in supply and demand.
Again because of trade counties are able to under cut manufacturing wages therefore there shouldn't be wage inflation in manufacturing.
What about the service sector that is creating all those jobs?
There should be wage inflation there, shouldn't it be Especially if a country is at full employment.
Again if earnings aren't high enough jobs would be lost. Losing of jobs means supply
and demand kicks in, wages stagnate or possibly go down. Supply and demand economics.
Now let's assume that manufacturing jobs are brought back the United States, inflation ( not necessarily wage) would in all probability ensue or profits would be reduced.
There is a good chance that in the near future there will be wage inflation brought by the government because of the minimum wage going up. My fear is panic by those who worry about wage inflation, destroying the economy.
My main purpose of writing this is indicate that one has to constantly look at what is happening and challenge one self if the economics of the past is the economics of the present and the future.

Steve's barking; A crude time machine has already been invented
Did you realize that a crude time machine that can take you back millions and maybe billions of years has already been invented. It's not called a time machine, but it's called a telescope.
Just think looking through one of these things you can possibly see the birth of a solar system that was born billions of years ago.
Scientists have seen the death of solar systems that happened billions of years ago.
We may not think of a telescope as a time machine but trust me it really is.

Steve's Barking; Constitutional Crises in the US?
The Constitution of the United States clearly states that the president shall appoint Supreme Court justices with the confirmation of the senate.
With the death of a justice the president has a duty under the Constitution to appoint a justice to take his place even though he has only 10 more months in office.
The Constitution implies that a hearing must be held and only then a rejection of the nominee can take place, as happened in the past.
The senators of the United State should do their job, even if it means rejecting the nominee of the president, after all what are the tax payers paying $175,000 per senator for.
If any senator doesn't want to do his constitutional duty that person should resign.

Steve's Barking; Donald (Duck) Trump and the new Republican conservatives
There's a new Republican conservatism brought about by the campaign of Donald Duck.
The new conservatism of the Republican Party. Conserve Social Security. Conserve Medicare.
The Donald understands this is what the old people want, and we all know that the older you get the more conservative you are.
What happens if the Donald wins the Republican nomination and promises to bail out Porto Rico.
Would that split the Latino vote?
What happens if the Donald promises to lend Mexico the money interest free to build the wall along the boarder having a Hugh.public works project? What would happen if the Duck promised to give a thousand bucks to all illegals to leave, would they take it? Or how many would take it?

Steve's barking; Getting serious about Syria
Let me start out by saying or a least writing that the middle eastern countries in turmoil need a plan to start rebuilding. Even as there is carnage going on rebuilding and bring industry is a must.
Loans must be thought of. New industries must be planed. Hope based upon ability to feel good about one self is essential.
Hope for the future is probably the greatest weapon against the voices of evil.
The world being in a recession we fix it by manufacturing things that the middle eastern countries need for manufacturing.
Win, win for everybody except nervous Nellie's about money.

Steve's barking; The cost of single payer healthcare .
Now I keep hearing that the cost of single payer ( or as I want single payer ( the government gives you a voucher from your taxes to buy health insurance) would cost trillions of trillions of dollars.
Because I don't have the figures in front of me but I know how to figure it out..
First we get the figures what the states and local governments pay toward health care, as in the case of states is 20 to 30 percent of the budget. I don't know what local governments pay but I imagine it's about the same. Then we take what businesses pay, add that in. Next we take what all employees pay and add that in. Next we add in what is payed by Americans who buy their own insurance.
If we decide to eliminate co pay all together we add that in. Maybe if we want to put eye examines and glasses in to the mix along with dental we find out how much the cost of insurance is being payed plus what those who don't have insurance are paying. That's shouldn't be a tall order for all those think tanks.
Now we go to the negatives or how we're going to pay. Number one states will no longer be paying health cost there by eliminating a percentage of deductible ( even standard deductible) that the tax payer pays. Medicare payments as we now know it would be eliminated. A health tax will take it place. Heath care accounts will no longer be needed. Deductions will be reduced, health care decision not needed. Now we get into tax the rich for the rest of health care. No not really, There are many imaginative ways of taxing(?) such as a having a health tax for corporations that move headquarters to avoid paying corporate taxes. A one percent health tax on any corporation foreign or domestic that does business in the US of A.
The reason I'm writing this is nobody has explained were they got their trillions and trillions added to the public budget.
We just have to believe economist on faith, while they don't explain how they got their figures from.

Steve's barking; Europeon socialism, bad example
A lot has been stated how well that almost all the European countries take care of their citizens.
Health care being one of the primary examples.
Wrong look toward any European system. The damn bureaucrats and their call for austerity are eating away at the very core of their health care system.
Some of the European nations are giving the senior citizen high anxiety with cuts to their pensions.
Then the bureaucratese wonder why they're going through a recession.
The good old US of A must take what's good from Europe and through the rest away. Europe for it's part should stop looking across the pond for stupid advice, they can f*** up all by themselves .

Steve's Barking; American politics or brat attack
Another free commercial for candidates for president better know as candidate debates.
In all the debates what is lacking is a clear definition of how each positions of each candidate will benefit the American public.
What is the most important thing the Republican candidates want you to know about is that in most cases their more conservative then the next candidate. Now a big question in the Democrat debate is that candidate Hilary Clinton may or may not be a progressive.
I like to call this a brat attack. This is like what bratty children sound like. Your Daddy is ugly. No your daddy's ugly.
I call myself a progressive, after all I need Social Security, get a government pension, live in a housing complex that was created by progressives. Got my education through the GI bill, and worked for a government agency that was created by a progressive agenda, so if I wasn't a progressive I would be a hypocrite.
I also like to call myself a Hamilton conservative.
In some way being a Hamilton conservative and a progressive are miles apart and in other ways they are the exact same thing. When we think of America's founding father's he was called the most conservative, yet he was the one who was the most anti-slavery. He was also the one who pointed out that the constitution in it's preamble states to promote the general welfare. What could be more progressive then that.

Steve's barking; The name of game isn't win primaries
The name of the game isn't to win primaries, or even get the most votes.
The true way to win the nomination to get at least 50% plus 1 delegates if no one gets that amount then we get what is called a brokers convention which hasn't happened in recent memory.
It's quite possible not to win a single primary and still win the nomination of a party.
It's also possible to win a vast majority of primaries and not get the nomination.
That's the Donald's problem. I don't think he's going to get enough delegates.

Steve's barking; Why Uncle Bernie Winning would be good for the Democratic party
Uncle Bernie needs new voters to win.
There is a good chance that these new voters would vote along party lines, voting for Democrats.
In order for Uncle Bernie to win there must be a huge turnout of new voters.
If the Democrats put up candidates in every congressional district, the house will (surprise, surprise) turn around.
The Democratic party needs new blood,so if my thesis is right they need Bernie more then Hilary for Hilary would not bring in new voters.

Steve's barking; The stock market has gone down because....( not enough information )
Watching (actually listening) to business news channels during the current down turn in the markets. Answers given, because the price oil has dropped the stock markets have taken a hit.
Because the down turn of the Chinese economy (down turn not collapse) American companies are hurt.
Because of the crash of oil prices counties such as Saudi Arabia have to cash in their stocks and bonds from their sovereign wealth fund in order to pay their welfare programs.
. (Good possibility).
Because foreign markets have fallen, investors who bought shares of stocks and bonds on margin, their calls have come in and those who owe must sell what they can to cover. (Good possibility)
Because the market has gone down individual owners on margin must sell, forcing the market to go down. (Good possibility)
Because large institutions don't want to show to much negative income they are in panic and selling.(possible)
Because banks lent money to oil companies that might not be able to pay back, therefore their stocks are taking a beating.
Now some or all these reason may be correct, but there isn't enough information to make a correct judgement as to why the markets are collapsing.
This is just like several test that I've taken were one of the possible answers is not enough information to answer the question.

Steve's barking; Are those who claim that health care is a large tax increase on the middle class are math challenged
Let's assume that some sort of single payer or a single payee health care system came in to existence in the good old US of A. Now of cause some sort of taxes would have to be raised to pay for it.
What's not discussed is the taxes that one would not have to pay the states to pay for the health care system that is currently in place. Currently a state like the Empire State pays between 30 to 33 percent of it's budget on health care. Most states in the union pay over 25 percent of their budget on health care, not counting what counties and municipalities pay for their share of health care.
Now how do these entities pay for health care? I do believe it's a thing called taxes.
And what about Medicare taxes that would not needed to be collected.
How to pay for a health care system. Let's say we spread it out. Having an extra couple of percentages on capital gains. Maybe putting a percentage or two on estate taxes. An extra custom tax on companies that moved out of the U.S. Now the perhaps the goods were made in America, doesn't matter, custom tax them anyway.
If one adds it all together the middle class may not pay that much more in taxes then their paying now.
Those who are against single payer or payee using the argument that middle class taxes must go up, may just be math challenged.
