Steve’s Barking; That ain’t tough enough

Calling your  enemies names an thinking that’s tough just  doesn’t  cut it.
Hurting yourself ( business or country) because you don’t get your way is tough, it’s plan stupid.
The truly tough people are the ones who can ignore their friends and  allies and can reason to do what’s he or she thinks is best.  Doesn’t give a damn what those close to him or her think or say.

Steve’s Barking; Maybe public pension funds don’t want to get caught short

The past year up until October Public Pension funds were having a good year.
Then in October Russian sanctions were demanded by congress.
Shortly there after the administration said that Chinese shouldn’t hold any tech stock for fear of stealing secrets 😂 the markets took a bigger downturn.
The markets went down perchance by these measures.
Perhaps because the markets lost value in institutional investors panicked(?) bringing about the Grinch downturn.

Steve’s Barking; Build that freaken wall

Hay Mr. President have a 1dollar tax on every person who enters and leave the country.
Have a dollar tax for every vehicle ( train, planes and automobiles) that leave the country.
You get on the television, and Twitter and tell the nation we need this for security.
Next you use this tax for security of building a wall.
Aha, Mexico helped pay for the wall.
Now I think the wall is a stupid idea, that will hurt Texas’ economy.
But I’m angry at some Texans, who made me an honorary southerner, but refused to make me an honorary  Texan.

Steve’s Barking: It’s Dec 14th 2018 and were in the 5th year of the depression

The U.S. farms  and rural areas are in a recession.
One can not blame the current president on it but he did make it worse.
The price of agriculture has gone down.
The decent paying jobs that were in the rural counties that were there at the turn of the century have vanished.
The last time the urban centers were booming and the rural area was not in deep recession was in the roaring 20s, just before the Great Depression.

Steve’s Barking; Are we overpaying for University education?

My question is are we overpaying for our University education?
We complain that we are overcharged for our healthcare.
We complain that we pay too much in taxes (some of which helps pay for our higher education).
Why don’t we complain that we pay too much for our higher education?
And while I’m at it why are so many people who know everything need higher education anyway?

It’s not just this up and coming generation that knows everything, for this old fart who has gotten stupider with age knew it all, and now I know how little I really know. I realize that I must have become stupider as I aged.

Steve’s Barking; What right have we not to be uncomfortable

If you are a human being, you will make people uncomfortable.
If you have a tattoo there are some people who will find you threatening.
If you are white there are people who  feel that you are threatening, the same is true if you are black.
If a man looks at a woman, that woman might feel threaten by the way you look at her, feeling that she’s a sex object.
There are some men ( including straight men) who feel uncomfortable by a woman who there not related too kissing and hugging them.
Some people are uncomfortable finding that the person in front of them are using food stamps.
There are people who are uncomfortable with other people who speak a different language in front of them.
What about people who talk  liberal gibberish, or conservative gibberish, liberals are offended and feel uncomfortable  by so called conservatives, and conservatives are offended and uncomfortable  by liberals.
I know I left a lot of uncomfortable things that a small minorities are offended by.
It’s part of life to be uncomfortable and offended. We are humans not cows.

Steve’s Barking; The Luck of Trump

My President is extremely lucky.
He starts a trade war against Europe and China just when the European Union is having problems with it’s member states. Brazil has gone nationalistic which will hurt the the agricultural trade with China. Brazil would have taken the U.S. place in supplying agricultural products (It may still, along with Argentina. These stupid moves will make it easier to negotiate, but the U.S. will probably regret the trade war Trump started.

Steve’s Barking; Stop talking money when it comes to healthcare

We in America have this idea that healthcare is free, or at least we should not be paying a lot of money.
Well I just had the unpleasant task recently of going to the emergency room with a family member.
It’s was a discrace, in more then 24 hrs a bed couldn’t be found for my family member.
Patients were peeing on themselves and no one was cleaning them. There weren’t enough doctors or nurses.
The fact of the matter there is a shortage of doctors and nurses in America’s healthcare system
To get the staffing it’s going to cost money, and the fact of the matter the only way to pay for the training and the beds that are needed is from the government. The only way the government can pay is through taxes.
The United States is not the only country that is facing these crisises of healthcare, you can probably find this problem in most countries, They refuse to pay for  adequate healthcare. Every country even socialized  medicine don’t put enough money into the healthcare system and I’m sure, most if not all are collapsing for lack of money.

Steve’s Barking; It will rot your brain

The truth be told I spend so much time on social media it will rot my brain.
As my mom used to tell me that I watch so much television it was going to rot my brain.
As my father used to tell me that I was reading so many comics it’s going to rot your brain.
As a classmate used to tell me that I was spending so much time following sports it will rot my brain.
I spent so much time on these  addictive activities that my brain rotted away.

Steve’s Barking; And what about Arizona

The President of the United States said the Democrats should except the results Florida’s Governor's and Senate election. The same is true about the governor race in Georgia. Three races that the Republican candidates barely won. There was no complaints about Arizona that the Democrat barely won.
Well it’s Florida law that if a candidate gets less then 1% a recount is in order. And the winner of the senate race happens to be Governor of Florida, doesn’t he know the rules. Now this governor also is complaining about fraud in  Broward county, he should of been  aware of any fraud as he is governor.
He’s not much of a governor is he.

Steve’s Barking; International Business

In the 21st century it appears that businesses aren’t located in one country.
German companies own American companies.
American companies own Mexican companies.
And China companies own companies that one would assume are owned in Europe
and the same is true with America.
Now it comes to the point that companies might become more important than nation states when it comes to the economy of the world (I seem to recall some s science fiction movies that predicted something like that).
Because of the possibility of companies taking over the importance of economies in the near future perhaps nation states should charge fees instead of using taxes to collect revenue.

Steve’s Barking; Tribal politics

There is no such thing anymore of conservative politics. For that matter there is no such thing as progressive politics. As a young man it was the conservatives who didn’t believe in lowering taxes, but it was the liberals-progressives who would lower the taxes to juice the economy. Prior to President Truman it was the Republicans that were bigger into civil rights then the Democrats. Wasn’t Republican Teddy Roosevelt head of the progressive movement? Didn’t Liberal Democrat President Woodrow Wilson segregate the civil service and if I’m not mistaken just about legalize lynching in the south.
The modern day conservatives/librarians vs the those modern day liberal/progressive seem to have changed places when it comes to funding the arm services prior to WWII conservatives tried to keep military spending down compared with the Roosevelt Democrats.
When one looks at the founding fathers of the United States the ones we called conservatives wanted
our taxes to be high enough to pay our bills, and a strong centralized government.
The liberal (Jeffersonians) wanted a looser form of government and were not that concerned with taxes.
Now getting back to were I started, those who call themselves conservatives or liberal are just part of a tribe that loosely fits into there prejudices and the other tribe or tribes also fit into their prejudices.
None look at the changing landscape of what a liberal or conservative is, if the tribe fits what they preceded to be them they call themselves liberal or conservative and they foolishly call the Democrats liberal and Republicans conservative, throwing in libertarian for not wanting to be part of the new
conservative tribe, or progressive being slightly independent of the liberal tribe.

Steve’s Barking; Who’s going to pay taxes when A I takes over the world

As of today as in the past humans would pay for everything in the form of taxes. Now I know that some of you say that corporations pay taxes, but according to the highest court in America corporations are people, so people pay all taxes. Now if one listens to futurists AI will be doing all the work that was once done by us people. Now these robots don’t have to pay taxes (yea I know I called it AI) but I’m old school and therefore I can call artificial intelligence run machines robots. Any way, getting back to nothing, I’m begging all the leaders to start taxing these robots to help pay of our debts, pay for our future, and it’s future and pay the pensions, and social security and health care of those of us who aren’t useful anymore.

Steve’s Barking; Trouble at GM?

GM blew out it’s earning report for this quarter. Projections from the top of GM is that they will have another banner quarter next quarter. In the same statement from GM headquarters they are requesting early retirement from one third it’s U S work force. Are they planning to make there parts that are made out of steel and aluminum in Mexico and Canada because of the tarrifs? I was taught that if a company believed good times are coming the company would hire in anticipation and not let workers go. So what’s the story General Motors. Shifting production out of the US .Do they see bad times coming? Perhaps it’s cheaper to hire newer workers? What ever it is, it sure looks bad for American workers, in the name of cost efficiencies.

Steve’s Barking; Do not tear up that credit card

I’ve heard many financial sages saying that you should cut up your credit card .Now if one was to take that advise literally you would be a fool. If your car breaks down how would most of us get it repaired without cash on hand and no credit card. If you have cash to pay for something, why are you using the cash when if you have a credit card that gives you a rebate you would be getting a discount on that item. Of cause it’s foolish to us that credit card just because you see a bargain. It’s not a bargain if you have to pay interest, it’s in fact more expensive. The point of the matter use that credit card carefully, and don’t make poor decisions with it.

Steve’s Barking; Lose, Lose situation

As of this day the United States has more jobs then people looking for jobs ( this according to the bureau of labor statistics). Now let’s suppose that for argument sake America wins the trade war and there is more manufacturing jobs in America, who the heck is going to do these jobs? I would imagine that a lot of orders will be unfilled especially the way we’re treating immigrants, don’t come knocking on my door. Now suppose we keep up the tarrifs and the price of goods becomes like a helium balloon, that’s not very good for the economy now is it? What about the MCUS treaty? The U.S. still has high tariffs on steel and aluminum, and while the amount of cars made in North America has gone up one can only imagine that those parts that needs raw steel and aluminum will be made in Canada and Mexico. It appears from this writer’s view point are trade negotiators aren’t worth a warm bucket of spit.

Steve’s Barking ; And we have hurricanes

There were two major hurricanes in the U.S. and it would be time were insurance companies had to payoff the policy holders. A downturn yesterday would tell the insurance companies to put money into short term government bonds. They can’t be holding on to stock to pay their policy owners. I don’t believe higher interest rate has much to do with today’s sell off.

Steve’s Barking; The Chinese syndrome ( American Stock Market)

Watching that famous news channel as the American stocks took a dive. Now it seems like all those stock pundits gave every excuse as to what the most probable reason for the sell off. Before turning on the tube I looked at the stations app were I saw the story that the President’s munchkin stated that the treasury is looking into Chinese owning American Stock, especially technology stock. We can’t have the Chinese stealing our technology intellectual property. Now if I was Chinese and held American tech shares I would be selling when the selling wad Good. Now I do believe that the Chinese were selling their shares of tech stocks plus other shares, now who could blame them. Of cause if you have stock on margin you would have to sell, that’s why the last hour one can see stocks slide at the end of the session.

Steve’s Barking; Google + Sorry to see you go

I just heard Alphabet is closing Google +. My favorite app will be know more. I wounder were I’m going to read blogs from people who are a lot smarter then me? And a lot more interesting then me.

Steve’s Barking; Riled up bases

The Republicans believe that the Kavanaugh nomination and the poor treatment(?) of him will rise up their base for the midterm elections. The Democrats think that the Kavanaugh nomination will rile up their base who normally don’t come out will. Well the way I see it the Republican base always comes out in the midterm elections, and the democrat stays home. Both sides have got to go after those who aren’t in their base, and hope that the Kavanaugh nomination will bring out people who are pissed off to their way of thinking.

Steve’s Barking; And so was Earl Warren

I seem to remember that the great liberal court of Earl Warren was headed by what was considered a conservative(?). And don’t forget he demanded the internment of Americans of Japanese descent in California during World War II. But when he presided over the Supreme Court it was considered the most liberal Supreme Court in the history of America. This brings us back to Brett Kavanaugh, maybe after all is said and done he’ll be considered a truly liberal(?) judge. Do I believe he be a liberal judge? Nah.

Steve’s Barking; Living in whine country

I used to think I lived in the United States of America, but the  truth be known I live in a place that should be called the whiners of America.
Every body complains that their being picked on or they been harassed sexually because they were kissed and didn’t expect it. He or she looked me up and down. He or she told me how to dress.
Oh those (conservatives)  commentators said horrible things.
Oh those (liberal) commentators said terrible things about conservative(?) thought.
Even the  spastic  President complains about being picked on. He goes on and on so much that I Can’t stand to watch him because he’s fake complaining makes me  want to puke.
From this day forward we change the monicker of the President from the  commander-in-chief  to head   whiner-in-chief.

* There is no such things as a liberal or conservative.

Steve’s Barking; Money can’t buy you (love) votes

Recent insurgents have proved that winning you don’t have to spend the most money.
You have to have something else.
I can’t explain what it is, because damn our current President spent less in the elections then did his opponents (primary and Clinton in the general election).
The Social Democrats spent about 1/4 of what their opponents (the regular democrats) spent and yet they kicked b... .
The only thing I took away from this is have a message and get it out any way you can and it’s not the  person who has the most money to spend but the person who has the best message to rile up the voters.

Steve’s Barking; Tesla the new Enron

The price of Tesla is about 290 a share.
Tesla is burning through money so fast that even if it does show a profit it may not last long.
If Tesla were to  collapse would that shake up the stock market?
Would that ruin investor confidence?

Steve’s Barking; Self driving cars in my future(?)

The  🌊 of the future I’ve been told is electric self driving cars.
Boy there must be some great improvement in the circuitry in the cars.🌧
Gee there must be no shorts in the cars of the future. No such things as floods to short the circuitry.
The’ll be no such thing as an electrical ⛈.
The makers of the WiFi’s that are use must not be the makers of the WiFi to be used in the 🚘, it’s so uneven a crash would be inevitable 🙀.

What happens it a truck has a flat tire, all the other cars on the road would 🗣 to each other. In 🚘 🗣 they will say to the 🚐 ********.🙀The newer cars will have to cover it WiFi intake sensors 🙉 so it wouldn’t pick up  naughty language 🤭.

Steve’s Barking; Google is unfair to me

I generally have 10 or less readers to the postings on my blog.
It can’t be me even though I don’t advertise my blog or blow my horn to get people to read my blog.So it must be Google who is suppressing my blog.
I’l just have to call myself a conservative so I can be part of the bullying to get my crazy ideas in front of the line to be front of the line to be read.
Algorithms be damned.

Steve’s Barking; Trade deal with Mexico or a nothing burger

Trumps trade deal seems to be a nothing burger for the U.S.
Mexican  Auto workers get a huge raise. Some Auto workers in the U.S. get a small raise.
Because factories are already built in Mexico those factories are more modern then most in the states, and it would be impractical to move the manufacturing to the States, zero sum gain.
The price of autos will probably cost more. Because the cost of the car goes up, it would seem that less cars will be sold. It would also seem it the cost of big ticket  items might stay the same profits go down.
There’s been no report that the steel tariffs are off, another cost that make car more expensive making it harder for the average American to buy a car.
Now don’t get me wrong I love it that all Auto works get  decent money, but it’s no great shakes for U.S. Auto workers. Doesn’t help American business, so I’m  wondering  what good is it?

Monday, August 20, 2018

Steve’s Barking; Maybe American manufacturing isn’t that good?

Because my country has to put a tariff on certain goods such as steel (especially  steel ) in order to protect  manufacturing of those products as if we were a third world country one has to assume that those factories aren’t better at manufacturing then the manufactured product in foreign countries and they might be just be worse.
If a foreign country has to help their manufacturing plants with subsidies and we want to level(?) the playing field go tit for tat after taking the case to WTO.
If a country is  dumping limit the amount of the manufactured goods that the product can’t be beat no matter how good the American product is then limit the amount of that product is allowed into the U.S.
My nose twitching tells that the real case is that those American companies can’t compete on the world stage.
Never thought I would see the day my country couldn’t complete.

Steve’s Barking; Is the United States turning into the 1965 Yankees

In the early 60s the baseball team the New York Yankees were the dominant team and in baseball.
In 1965 their  dominance collapsed. They were last in the league for several years to come.
At the present time the United State is the dominant county in the world.
At the present time the US doesn’t have enough workers for select jobs.
At the present time there is a trade war, which can only help several other countries and the EU.
The United States while the government may look strong, the population is in greater debt,  despite or because of tax cuts.
Product inflation seems to be on the rise.
These are not great signs for America, are they?

Steve’s Barking: Trade war good (?)

There is a patriot feel to America in many places.
Even have the president saying how easy it is to win a trade war.
Just like a real war, there is a joyful feeling, that is until the bodybags start coming in.
The body bags of trade wars are the business that will close and the jobs that will be lost.

Steve’s Barking; Negative 2

While  everybody who knows anything about economics stating that the American economy will  be positive in the range of 2% to 5 %.
Because I’m not everybody I’m going to go out on a limb and say that the economy will be in negative territory even though it’s back to school time.
I base my bias prediction on the fact that the tarrifs will be kicking in and the past quarter there was higher economic activities then normal by companies trying to beat the tarrifs war.

Steve’s Barking; What side of the political bed did you get up on?

There is an expression in America when a person is grumpy, boy did you get up on the wrong side of the bed.
I’m using the expression what side of the political bed did you get up on as a way to describe the good old U S of A shifting political thinking of persons who hold office.
Now most people believe that President Nixon was this conservative President yet he presented ideas that were to the left of JFK, either because he believed that they were right and or he felt that it would
help him stay in office.
Now I do recall reading that  staunch segregationist George Wallace started out as a progressive but when he first ran for officers he was soundly defeated. Good old George Knew which side his bread was buttered on and became the biggest segregationist of Alabama.
What about  Strom Thurmond, fought hard to keep whites and African Americans apart, but fathered an African American girl, paying her mother child support and taking care to of her. Another fraud  politician  who looked after his career over everything else.
What about the founding fathers from Virginia, almost all talked against slavery, and what an abomination it was, and then when it became evident that slaves were worth more then There plantations their slaves stayed slaves.
Do they become different persons when it becomes expedient? Would most of us become different people when it becomes expedient?

Steve’s Barking; Mayor Bring It On

When Mayor Giuliani was Mayor of New York and there was a threat that Al Quida was threatening to attack New York on New Year’s Eve 2000 he said bring it on. Of cause we all know that a little over a year and a half later Al Quida took him up on it.

Steve’s Barking; There is a deep state in America

There is deep state in America head by senator Mitch McConnell who was a  obstructionist leader when Obama was president. Among other deep staters were Senator Cruz, and other so called Tea Party members.
Those deep staters on the outside are people like Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, and Steve Bannon.
Influential commentators who egg on obstructionist making life hell for people who want to do their job correctly in government.
Deep stater Steve Bannon was actually part of the present administration. The shame of it all.

Steve’s Barking; America, all good things come to a end!

The way America is going it’s right out of a fictional story, we’re foreign moles wait years to distroy us.
If one was to write a fictional story of  the President it might as well be called the  Siberian candidate.
We have a President who over heated the economy. When it crashes and it will because taxes are so low it be extremely difficult to pump money into it.
The President must be a fan of Richard Nixon, bringing back stagflation.
We’ll have excess capacity of our manufacturing and that brings about layoffs.
Because of tarrifs the cost of things like automobiles will go up, so the average consumer can’t bail the down turn in the economy.
Will there be a world wide recession, probably not.  Argentina, and Brazil will benefit greatly.
China can pump money into its economy in the short term having their billion plus consumers buy there excess products, and what it needs it can get from the rest of the world boosting the economies of those places in South America and Africa.
The President said perhaps all countries should eliminate tarrifs, well unless I’m mistaken Japan an the EU did that and we’re left out in the cold.
So from being the top dog economically to bring third tier in a few short years, all good things must come to an end.

Steve’s Barking; Midus touch economics

The United States might just be going through midus touch in certain industries because the of  he tarrifs. Certain producers are going to make out like bandits, but unfortunately there customers are going to lose out, and unless inflation goes up and up they will not be able to afford the very products that will be selling by American companies at higher prices then they were paying.
At first everything that lumber, steel, etc, touches will turn to gold but in a short period of time that gold will turn to sh**.
Remember economics needs a desire and an ability to pay.

Steve’s Barking; The two dollars store

With the trade war with China, will the dollar store have to change it’s name to the two dollars store?
With a trade war upon us the question is (which nobody is asking) can the American consumers  absorb the increase in goods from China, Mexico,Canada and the EU?
If we do, then how does that put pressure on foreign countries to lower their  tarrifs on American goods?
Is this the way of the president pays for his income tax cut?
And were the hell is congress doing it’s constitutional duties, that it clearly states in the constitution that revenue measures come from the House of Representatives?

Thursday, July 5, 2018

Steve’s Barking; Why doesn’t Congress want to do it’s job

Holey Smoly Batman, why doesn’t the US Congress want to do its job and either have a tax on goods  coming into the United States or not. Tariffs ( which are taxes are the provenance of  Congress not the White House) is a rather poor way of turning around trade imbalances but an easy way of raising revenue. Having no PhD I’m trying to figure what national  security  risk non military or non informational products has on the U.S. which has been hinted that the president has the power to   Levy taxes for in the form of tariffs
Why has no congress person sued the president? Are they just a bunch of lazy bums that don’t want to do their jobs
They proved that they didn’t want to do their job when they refused to hold hearings on Supreme Court nominee Garland.
If those members of congress that don’t want to do their job, they should all just resign.

If there was zero tariffs were would the revenue to the state come from.
That includes the U.S.

When there was a hint of a value added border tax to help pay for income tax reduction, is by letting the president leaving high tariffs a sneaky way of new taxes to pay for the reduction in income tax?

Steve’s Barking; Newer and cheaper

I must be missing something when it comes to imports. Don’t counties that have a large surplus with the United States pay their workers a lot less then we would pay our workers?
Am I missing something, don’t those countries that have a large trade surplus with the United States  have newer factories?
I guess those who believe that ending tariffs would even the playing field are living in a fools paradise.

Steve’s Barking; No immigration, No future

We of the Western World what no immigrants.
They’re messy, smelly, gangsters, who are terrorist, rapist.
 Kind like our  ancestors.
Of cause we of the old industrialized world who are running short of babies to grow up to be workers.
Look at the United States we have for the first time in the the history of the world more jobs then people to take them. Oh of cause they require special skills like driving a truck and fixing cars.
Of cause futurist might tell you that’s all right because those jobs in the near future will be done by robots or at least in the case of driving a truck by self driving vehicles.
Of cause those futurist can’t tell anybody how us old farts will pay for robotic nursing, or even if we are healthy as one can be and doesn’t need nursing but still needs food. If we have no workers that normally done by immigrants paying into our pensions and in the United States Social Security, our future looks dim.

Steve’s Barking; Did N Korea shoot it’s load?

Does N Korea have anymore A Bombs? Does N Korea have the material and or money to build another A bomb? Does N Korea several rockets that can reach the United States? Does N Korea have the material and or the money to buy the materials to build the rockets to reach the United States?

Steve’s Barking; Will the U.S. turn into the next Venezuela?

I know that some of you silly gooses out there will only laugh at that statement, after all Venezuela is a communist country and the good old U.S. OF A is a capitalist country. The question is does the economic system ruin a country or does the cult leadership of a country lead to the demise. Think of it this way Hugo Chavez was an extreme populist when he took over hiS country an if my memory serves me correct Venezuela economy expanded because of oil. The United States is being ruled by a cult like leader, the economy is going great guns, but will the corrupt and cult like President lead us down the same path? Will the raising of the price of goods due to tariffs slow and hinder the economy of the U.S.? Will the rising of prices on goods(especially farm goods) from the U.S. force counties like China and Mexico get their farm products from countries like Argentina and Brazil? Will the administration do something foolish like limit foreign ownership in American companies, therefore hurting foreign investment in America? Will in two years Americans see much better investment opportunities in foreign countries hindering America and American companies from getting all the capital it needs? We in the United States have this false pride that Venezuela type of economic disaster couldn’t happen here, I’m not so sure.

Steve’s Barking; Living in an Orwellian world

As I get older I the labels that we give ourselves and we give those who have different views from us have opposite meanings to what they are. How can someone call themselves liberal and be intolerant? How can someone call themselves conservative and try to undo existing laws and 80 years? How can a person be part of something called the freedom caucus and take away rights to vote and a woman’s right to chose? How do we have a heritage foundation with people who don’t know their own history? How can there be a group that calls themselves Federalist and be against a big centralized government? I was a party not long ago when a young lady came up to me and said she was from the Working Family Party, she then went out to complain about what she called DINOs ( Democrats In Name Only). If your not a Democrat what makes you think you can complain about what people call themselve?

Steve’s Barking; Pardon me boysI

Pardon me boys is that the Chattanooga choo-choo ( song before my time). The President of these United States has minions who claim that he can pardon himself. Well may not know much about the law but any reasonable person would assume that a person must be convicted of a crime before that person could be pardoned. Yea I’m know , Ford said he would pardon Nixon, but I don’t recall him actually doing so. So one can assume that the Pres would be removed from office before he is tried in a court of law, therefore under reasonable assumption he cannot pardon himself. * It appears that President Donald Trump is as patriotic as Benedict Arnold.

Steve’s Barking; Heading into the new dark ages

Looks like the world, and especially America what’s to head into a new dark age. We’re heading out into tribalistic sociaties, everyone is nationalistic (tribal). In the United States too many of us scoff at science and abuse parts of that we use every day (I’ll let your imagination try to answer what I’m writing about). My beloved New York City is being turned into a Caracas by the mayor and Caracas has been turned to a town of the dark ages.

Steve’s Barking; Oil prices going up, too much of a good thing for oil producing states

Oh my the price of oil futures were going through the roof. Great for Russia, great for the Arab oil producers, and even Venezuela. The problem it’s greatest for alternative energy. The higher the price of oil goes up, the more Afordable alternatives are. The more profits that alternatives are the more companies get into them. The more companies get into them the cheaper they become, and the more dependent the consumer becomes on alternative fuel, the less they will need oil. So all you investors out there bet on oil futures.

Steve’s Barking; Is the US turning into a little Afghanistan?

Another mass School shooting in America. Mass shootings at churches. Afghanistan has killings at schools and places of worship. The only diffence between the mass killings in Afghanistan and the US is the Afghans use car bombs and we in the US use guns. Eventually we’ll all become immune.

Steve’s Barking; America’s mom and pop presidency

The current President of the United States runs his presidency just like he ran his business. It was a reality Business that was run just like the local grocery store. Run by the family with several outside employees as needed. The owner might have a couple of trusted employees that have seemed to have been with him forever. Now the owner may or may not cheat his customers, but rest a sure that there are favorites who get preferential treatment such as the NRA from this administration. Sometimes the owner lets the family borrow the Cadillac or he may not let the family use the car at all, just like our president makes his kids travel in coach while he has a private jet when he was a civilian.

Steve’s Barking; For domestic consumption

The way things are going in the world today it appears that one can’t believe foreign policies. Take the US of A. Is building a wall with Mexico a real global issue or is it just a promise to appease the rabble? Is Israel claiming that Iran is cheating on its Nuclear deal, just a deversion by its prime minister who is under a cloud? Does Russia really give a damn about the Ukraine or is it just a way of showing how tough they are to the populous back home? Could North Korea’s missile and nuclear threat been a show for the people of North Korea? Is America’s threat of tariffs a stupid ploy?

Steve’s Barking; What dimension is the universe ?

I have a question for myself, what dimension is the Universe? We can see in 2 dimension and 3 dimension, or at least I can, but the Universe what I see isn’t what is real. What is up, what is down? What is sideways. There should be no left nor right. Everything we see is from the prospective of the earth. The earth isn’t flat even thought when most of us look into the horizon most of see it as flat (though some of us can see a slight curvature). This is true when I look into the night sky, the Universe the I see is flat and up and down, now I know this to not be real. So my question again to myself is what dimension is the Universe really and do we have to invent something totally new to navigate it?

Steve’s Barking; Voter fraud in the USA

There is the yelling of voter fraud from the Democrats that a foreign power has hacked our elections. There is the yelling of voter fraud from the Republicans that uneligable voters vote. Now both parties are talking through their hats. The past election was probably one of the most honest election in America’s history. Dead men didn’t vote. No reports of bribery as in post revolution times. Nor was there any talk of if so and so didn’t win there will be no jobs on Wednesday. There was even less talk of voter intimidation. I guess that the political parties are a bunch of sore losers and winners

Steve’s Barking; Vote Competence

The Governor Elections is occurring this year in New York. I have a terrible choice. All candidates talk about liberalism, Conservatism, progressive and on and on. Our current governor went from moderate to conservative to liberal, what I want from my governor is to be competent. I want my dmt to be easy to maneuver. For family members who need unemployment not complicated filing. I want few delays on my roads due to roadwork on all highways going in the same directions. No person who is running talks of how their administration would be the most competent.

Steve’s Barking;Assad will not leave, why should he?

Syria’s Assad will not leave and it might just be the United States fault. How may you ask is that? Well he’s looking out for his life and his family? America has a history of those rulers in the Middle East who we belive to be tyrants so we wanted them to abdicate and they did so ending up outcast and dead. So for preservation sake he could think it’s foolish. Staying in power by any means no matter how awful America believes. We may be part of the blame for the awful things happening in Syria. Don’t forget the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Steve’s Barking; Leverage bankruptcies

As I understand it, American companies have a record number of debt. Now interest rates were at a record low, but interest rates will be going up. Couple that with the price of goods and services from China being taxed( that’s what a tariff is) making those goods and services more expensive, if my calculations are right there should be a record number of bankruptcies. Bankruptcies should reduce the number of jobs in America. No China and Russia really doesn’t have to do a thing to hurt America, it’s doing it to its self.

Steve’s Barking; Facebook should do what it does

Facebook is not a government run enterprise nor is it a nonprofit. No it’s a serious for profit enterprise. the . It doesn’t make its money from charging it’s customers a fee for using it services ( which in my opinion would decrease the value by 90%) it makes its money by selling advertising. What great for advertisers it can target its audience. It’s also an open platform were people with bad attentions can misuse the information that Facebook provides. If we believe in a free society along with a entrepreneurial society there’s only a few minor things that Facebook can do. As far as those financial analysts who are putting Facebook down I can’t but think of those who put Facebook down after it’s IPO.

Steve’s Barking; Self contained trading

Self contained trading? That’s when one country or trading block does most of its manufacturing, producing within it’s boundaries. At one point in time it was quite possible for America to manufacture and sell most If its goods within its borders and still be the among richest countries in the world. Those days are gone. China may be able to buy and sells its products within its borders better then us. European Union has more customers then us. If the rest of the Americas set up a trade federation they would be self sufficient. Would American manufacturers be hurt against self-sufficient countries or trade block? Yea they would. America is no longer the most self-sufficient block in the world.

Steve’s Barking;Didn’t know that the President of the United could set taxes

The president of United States said he’s going to set tariffs. Tariffs being a tax means that he the president can tax without congress if he he does it by executive order. Now I looked at the constitution, and to tell the truth I didn’t see it their. I saw that congress has the right to tax, I didn’t see were it says the president has the right to tax. Well I do suffer from dyslexia so maybe I just missed it. Maybe the pres does have the right to tax. * Tariffs I do recall from my history book tariffs (duties) was one of the principal forms of taxation in the early days of the republic.

Steve’s Barking; USA a nation of laws

I’ve been taught that we’re a nation of laws. This being true my nation must be a nation of law breakers. Who hasn’t Jay walked (walked across the middle of the road) at least once in a life time. Smoked in bed. Cheated on your taxes, not reported income? Touched somebody inappropriately? We’re also a nation that wants to enforces laws that don’t exist. I’m writing about you 2nd amendment nuts. No the second amendment doesn’t say any Tom, Dick or Harriet can have have a gun. It references a militia and says the right of the people to bare arms shall not be infringed, the militia in 1789 was the people’s army. Some of the founding father’s feared that the militia wouldn’t have their weapons available to them as a reference to Shay’s rebellion. The Massachusetts militia’s weapons were locked in a ware house and the head of the militia had to break into it with out permission from the continental congress. The second amendment gave permission for members of well regulated militia to controll there own weapons and have have to ask permission from congress to get there weapons.

Steve’s Barking; What so good about tariffs?

So the president thinking about putting tariffs on imported steel. Hay may maybe the U.S. deficit will be reduced with this old fashion tax that America in its infancy help to fund the government. Well it also maybe a job killer. Think of all the companies that use low cost steel, like Campbell soup that can’t pass the increase in price to the consumer therefore laying off people or having profits reduce, there by reducing the effect of lower corporate taxes. What about the price of building bridges, and new rails for our railroads, the price should go up or reducing profits for those who build them. Perhaps this country will reduce the amount of bridges and fixing our tracks. If the cost of steel goes to high for lack of compilation from foreign steel makers, perhaps too many new projects will be killed and there wouldn’t be a need of so many steel workers. Will the Fed look at the price rises and say o my gosh inflation is heating up, interest rates must rise more quickly, which might just be another job killer.

Steve’s Barking; Hyperloop

Getting excited about a new transportation system, that seems safe, fast, cheap to build and extremely efficient. My only problem I can see is what effect does traveling at 240 to 670mphs in a tube have on the human mind?

Steve's Barking; Contracting of money suppy

The meaning of money. Storage of value. Money supply goes down when loans are called in. At least that what logic tells me. Does that mean the value of money goes up when the stock market goes down, and calls are placed? If that being true and I have no doubt that it is, when the stock market is high the value of money is cheap. The same should be true with the central bank holding of government debt. Now this maybe true in the over all picture but to the average Joe on the street, the value of money is the same or it's become become more valuable. What all this nonsense I've been writing about in the above paragraph is the stock market was inflated because that's were the excess money that the central banks were giving back into the economy was going into the stock market. Didn't inflate cost of housing, transportation, food or clothing. Supply and demand does that

Steve’s Barking; Alternative reason American Stock markets went down

I know you all heard various reasons that the American Stock markets went down on Friday Feb 2. Things like interest rates on bonds are the going up. Well let me give you another scenario, if you were paying Russian and there would be a possibility that because of sanctions you might have your holdings confiscated, wouldn’t you sell. What if you were a foreigner and suddenly you see the American dollar lose over 10 percent of it’s value, why would you keep American stocks. Now as stocks are going down, wouldn’t stocks most recently been bought on margin be put on call?

Steve’s Barking; The United State has two major political parties

The United States has two major polical parties. Dumb and Dumber.

Steve’s Barking:Does the president of the United States have an inferiority complex?

The President of the United States seems to keep talking of how much better he is then his predecessors. How great he is. Now I’m no psychiatrist but it appears to me that the president has got to keep providing to himself more then the rest of the world how great he is.

Steve’s Barking; You can’t trust American business

Why can’t you trust American business?
Simple, The’re run by morons.
If the had given raises and bonuses in 2017 they would pay less percentage of income in taxes then they will by giving raises this year.
Of cause one might assume that the only reason that they are giving raises and bonuses to buy the publicity at how wonderful the business tax decrease is for there employees. Ah the old con game.
Maybe it’s the new version of if the candidate the corporation wants doesn’t win your all fired(a kinder, gentler way).

How stupid can our health insurance industry be when they were given a giveaway by the Obama administration (everyone has to have health care and the fed would also give subsidies) just because they couldn’t come to an agreement on how to,handle rural healthcare insurance.

Steve’s Barking; chaos in Washington the Democratic Party

There’s chaos in Washington I tall you, chaos in Washington and it’s in the Democratic Party.
Every man who I saw anybody in the Democratic Party is subject to sexual harassment charges.
Due process, what the funk is that. Right now if I was working in Washington either as a representative or just a common worker worker, I would be walking on eggshells. Gee I might have touch someone in a way that’s misconstrued.

Gee if I was a living in a low tax state I would be woundering just what the democrats are talking about I just saw a ten percent jump in my take home pay.
That’s what the Democrats have got to worry about, class warfare, and they seem to be protecting the wrong class.
